Hotel Batory

Hotel Batory

The Hotel Batory was a very good choice of Hotel in Krakow. It is about 7-8 minutes walk from the main train station and has signs on the road in case you have trouble finding it. It is also about a 10 minute walk from the main square area of Krakow. It is very nice because it is located in a residential area so it is quiet and it is nice because the hotel has an annex in addition to the main building that can accommodate large parties. They will hold your bags in a storage room if you are staying in Krakow after checkout time. We did this and it proved to be very useful

We had nine people in our group so we stayed in the annex. They assigned us one 5 bedroom and one 6 bedroom room. Because it is not a hostel they will not assign any other people to your room if you don't fill all of the beds. They were both comfortable and had enough room. Some of the beds are bunk beds and some are singles. They have a large bathroom, a closet, and a TV. They provide towels for the bathroom and will change them daily. They also provide wireless internet for free that you can pick up in both buildings.

The hotel offers a free breakfast and it was excellent! It had many choices from cereals, jelly filled crepes, cheeses, bread, fruit, pastries, meats, sausages, fruit juice, tea, coffee, and water.

I recommend this hotel for large groups and families. It is a great location and a great bargain!

Batory Hotel

Hotel Batory was an excellent choice in Krakow - a 5 minute walk from the main town square and a 7 minute walk from the main train station. Located in a quiet residential area, the hotel has two options for your stay.

There is the traditional hotel which is accessed straight from the lobby of the main building, and the building annex which provides cheaper rooms for larger parties. We stayed in the annex as we had 9 people in our party, and were able to get 2 rooms with 5-6 beds each. It is not a hostel however, as you have to rent out the whole room no matter the size of your group. The rooms were spacious and had their own bathrooms and TVs. The beds were adequate, some were single and some were bunk beds.

The hotel also offered a free breakfast buffet to both buildings, which was excellent. There were meats, cheeses, crepes, cereal, fruits, sausages, breads, fruit juices, coffee, and tea. It was definately one of the best breakfast buffets we have had! After we checked out, the hotel also allowed us to store our luggage in the luggage room for the day which was very convenient.

I would recommend this hotel to families and groups of students travelling for a weekend away. It is centrally located and we had a pleasant stay.
