My 4 yr old daughter and I arrived late after a long day at Disneyland. Hotel sits on the road in a dumpy, dirty part of town. I was scared. Reception took a long time checking in the people before us. He was slow and difficult to understand. After waiting 1/2 hr to finish other customers he proceeded to tell us we did not have a reservation even though we had a copy of our confirmation. He was rude and not helpful. By this time it was 1 am and we had to find another hotel to stay. Part of which was fine because the area of town the hotel is in is scary.

To share, this boutique hotel represents excellent value for money by Reykjavik standards. The standard of accommodation is excellent, furnishings are simple and elegant, with internet access and satellite TV, and effective blinds to keep out the night-time light in summer. The service is first-rate; nothing is too much trouble and they even bring you a delicious breakfast to your room each morning. Best of all, it's only five minutes walk to the centre of Reykjavik's old town where all the bars and restaurants are located.
