OK, so how do I describe central London hotels. Over priced and crap. I had a room in this hotel for one night and was sharing with a girl I met in London. The hotel was paid for me but I was told that it cost about £60. Well, we were ripped off. Firstly the room was tiny. The two beds were squashed in to a small room. It was also very noisy due to traffic right outside and you could hear it through the windows. The room was extremely hot, almost uncomfortable, but we couldn't open the windows because of the noise. The bar in the hotel is very small considering the size of the hotel and is very much like an old mans pub. It is very smoky and for someone who comes from Scotland where smoking is banned in public places, it was very uncomfortable.
Breakfast the next morning was a disgrace. It was very busy when I went down and people were getting shown to tables which had not been cleaned and did not get cleaned for a good while. My table had no cutlery on it and none of the staff seemed to realise this, nor did they realise that people wanted coffee or tea as they made no effort to offer it to people. The buffet was a farce and was not particularly appetising. The place seemed to be completely understaffed and seemed dirty as it took so long to clear tables. One table next to me was not cleaned the whole time I was there and there was food everywhere. Overall the whole experience was not a pleasant one. If this is the general standard of central London hotels then it will be a while before I return.
