Though I have stayed in many places in and around Chester, I am very partial to the Blossom Hotel. Over a 150 years old, and currently under some unique renovations, it has provided me and other members of my family with excellent care and service. Our rooms are always spacious, clean, and interesting. The staff are knowledgeable and go out of the way to help. The price is good for what you want and it is within walking distance to everything in you would want to see and do in Chester, as well as getting to points where you can explore the surrounding countryside. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Breakfast is in a large dining room which overlooks the cobbled narrow street of St. Johns. The windows are huge. I get the feeling this room may have been used as a ballroom at one time. The architecture is wonderfully Victorian with a charming curved staircase, fluted columns, and patterned carpets. If you aren't planning a stay, you might want to arrange to just have dinner in their grille or a drink in the pub.
