When I checked in there was the smell of fresh paint and I actually saw a man painting and the "wet paint" signs were still out. I had booked online and the desk clerk made the changes I needed that the website did not allow me to make, When I told the desk clerk that I had pets, she seemed not to know what to do since my room was prepaid. I suggested that I pay her so that is what we did. My room was clean but the TV remote did not work. The complimentary breakfast is very greasy so I had cereal the second morning. My biggest complaint was in trying to set up my laptop. The only unused outlet was in the bathroom. The table was the only place for a computer and it was not near any outlets. In order to plug in my computer I moved the table, unplugged the appliances, plugged in my multi-plug surge protector, and then plugged in my computer. (I was staying 2 nights and did not want to run down my battery.) I had not expected to have to rearrange the room to set up my computer. Next time, I'll try to arrange my travels not to spend the night in Pecos, TX because there is not a lot of choice of hotels there.

Nothing's changed - stay away

Despite the signs, this place is NOT "being remodeling" and that paint is NOT "wet paint". Those signs are there to make you think that the dirt and mess are from construction. No, that dirt has been there for years, and everyone knows that fresh paint smells fresh (and is not dirt-covered). We stayed here because we were tired AND because they accepted pets. We should have kept driving. We should have checked out. There is a Motel 6 next door, which would have been much much better. Besides the awful and unsafe conditions, the breakfast is absolutely appalling. The food is at room temperature (like it's been sitting there for days), and the attendant came in dressed in a dirty parka-coat and poked at the eggs once in awhile. Outside, the fence is falling down, there is no security lighting, the outside doors are open all night, there are vagrants milling around . We reported these conditions to Quality Inn, but did not even receive the courtesy of a response. This is all we need to know about their company.

A friend and I did a 19-day road trip from California to D.C. and we stayed at several inns during our trip. This place was the worst. The lobby and hallways stunk, the room was shabby and the carpets and lighting were terrible. The next morning the lobby was leaking water from the ceiling; it had rained the night before. The only reason we stayed was because it was 1am as we arrived in Pecos and we where both exhausted from a long days drive.

If our room was typical, this place should be shut down. The room was , to be kind, less than clean and simply worn out and broken down. The room never got cool as the A/C just seemed to do little else than make noise, the WIFI did not work, the light fixture in the bathroom was broken and hanging down, the place reeked of Clorox , the coffee maker didn't work and the sink was partially stopped up and the handle broken. Overall, a dreadful experience that I would never wish to experience again.

Pecos TX Quality Inn

Quality Inn is a misnomer in this case. We paid a lot for a room in which the cable tv worked on only 6 stations, the towels were stained, the door frame was falling apart, wallpaper dirty and peeling, woorwork needed painting, tiles were chipped, bathroom fixtures rusted. Breakfast was good, but it didn't make up for everything else. Grounds very shabby. Stay away from this one.
