My husband and I really liked this hotel. The room was very clean and decorated with a modern theme, but was a bit small compared to hotell rooms in the US. The staff were all very nice and helpfull. The hotel is in a great location. Very close to the main streets, with a lot of restaurants and nightlife around the corner. It is also very close to the main train terminal. I would suggest though that you do not stay here in the summer. They don't AIR CONDITIONING, just a "Cooling system," which didn't seem to cool anything!!! That means that the windows need to be kept open and there can be a lot of traffic noise.

We arrived after an overnight flight from the USA. the hotel was easy to find using out Google map from the Airport. the location is great if you want to see the downtown area, but if you want a good night rest and sleep forget it. The Hotel is located on a fairly busy street with streetcars and buses running until very late. They are frequent and very noisy. Add to the this the fact that the hotel is located only one block from one of the most popular areas for bars and restuarants with the accompanying noise from bands and/or music from the partyers sleep is not going to happen especially if you want any windows open. The htel is just a short walk to the bahnhoff area and the Limat river. The room we had was spotless if a bit small but very comfortable.

"The Hotel du Theatre is in an excellent location in Zurich's Old Town area, within walking distance of the central train station and public transportation. The standard room is small but comfortable, with modern minimalist, no frills decor. Nice breakfast available daily until mid-morning. Main downside was lack of air conditioning during unusually hot July days and street noise if windows were open."
