More pretence than substance

First the good news. The hotel is convenient to the city. It is located just outside the Schotentor station on the U2. It has free high speed internet in the room - a rarity in Vienna. Full buffet breakfast was included.
This is an older hotel that IMHO needs some renovation. I had a single "Superior" room. The room was small with no closet only - an armoire that had no drawers for clothing. The room had a small desk 1/2 of which was taken up by the coffee pot. The floors creaked like crazy.
Breakfast was OK, but don't go during the rush since the staff is not able to keep up with neither cleaning tables nor keeping the food full.
This is not a bad place to stay, but for the same money you can stay at the Hilton which is at the other end of the same subway station. It is a much nicer hotel.
