Room with a view

This place had a great view and was located at a beautiful beach. There are not many amenities at Sapphire Village (if you want a resort setting, stay at Sapphire Beach.) The rooms are located among condos of longer-term residents. The Grapevine Grill was good, but pricey (but so are all the restaurants on the Island). The mattress needed to be updated. The resort is close to other resorts, beaches, restaurants, and the ferry to St. John. If you plan on being out and about, but want a great view, this is a great place. We would stay here again.

Rooms were ok, not great, but what you would expect from a 3 star hotel.Unfortunately, the maid service was NONEXISTENT. During our 5 night stay, we only had maid service 1 time. We ran out of fresh towels and linens. Towels that were supplied were old, tired and torn; in bad need of replacement. The bed was lumpy and not very comfortable. The staff had an attitude of indifference at best, and generally were not very helpful. On the positive, access to Sapphire beach is within a short walk from the room and the beach is quite nice.

The room had no bathroom lights or air conditioner, we alerted the desk multiple times over the first few days but got no help. I have been to St. Thomas several times and I will return but never back to Sapphire.

Our room was not ready when we arrived that afternoon. We waited three hours for it. No other room was offered. Had difficulty unlocking the room and took about an hour to get someone to actually come with us to resolve the issue. Onsite staff customer service is very poor except for the maid service which was very good. There was no forewarning that the Hotel Restaurant was out of business so no food or drinks onsite. The location is good, just around the corner from Red Hook and not far from Meagan's Bay.
