Great Hotel mid June 2009

This hotel was great to stay at. I booked the room at 8pm the night before. When we checked in they upgraded our room. There were plenty of amenities w/indoor and outdoor pools, an outdoor gas fire pit, Kids playground, breakfast buffet where kids under 12 eat free. Everything was very clean. I do not know what the problems were that other reviews are complaining about- I did not find anything wrong. In almost every hotel I have ever stayed at the Bathroom is very close to the sleeping area so I do not think that complaint has any warrant. It is very close to all the shopping areas and only a few minutes from storyland. Yes-maybe the rooms are a little dated but they are not that expensive-unlike other hotels that charge more than $120 a night or more. The room we stayed in was very clean although the lighting in the bathroom could have been brighter-maybe a lighter color shower curtain(it was dark green) might have helped. It was a very wonderful 2 day stay and I would definitely stay there again. It was also very busy while we were there being Laconia bike week and the first full week Storyland was open full time. I do not know if it is always that busy but it was still a great time.
Spend your dollars elsewhere....

We booked a junior suite with a jacuzzi. We are still looking for the suite. This is a one-room deal and not a very appealing one. The jacuzzi is loud enough to cause a killer headache and you have to start filling the tub the night before....
The bathroom is tiny - and located right next to the bed. Not good if someone gets up in the middle of the night.
There is no desk with chair for your laptop.
The room is too dark.
The television is very small and located at the other end of the room. We should have brought our binoculars so we could lie in bed and see the television. The couch is not positioned in front of the television.
Cookies and hot chocolate and cider are in the lobby from 4-6 in the afternoon. They tasted like Chips Ahoy.
We paid very big bucks and this is a HUGE disappointment.
The room, in general, is extremely dowdy.

While the list of amenities were great, the condition was less that appealing.
In both the indoor and outdoor pools, the water was cloudy, dirty looking. The hotel room was just as bad...I paid a first class rate and got a second class room! The furniture was worn looking. The bed was so so....not the most comfortable. Curtains where from the 80's I think! The room was drab! The stay was more enjoyable outside of the hotel... very disappointed!
