We stayed at the SAVOY EXCELSIOR and had a wonderful view of the Adriatic Sea from our balcony. We usually would not have stayed in such a grand hotel, but we were there to attend a wedding and many of the functions were held there.
Our room was marvelous; it was twice the size of a typical hotel room, was very elegant and modern and had the biggest bathtub I had ever seen. The cost per night for our room was $110. USD. This rate included a delicious full breakfast buffet served in its formal dining room.
Don’t be alarmed by the customary request for your passport. It is required that the hotels make a record of all guests and they use the passports to accomplish this. When we stopped at the desk a few hours after we checked in, the passports were returned to us.
