Not a good experience

I wouldn't stay here again, the service was slow and you some times felt like you were a bother to the femal bartenders. They would give you half your order walk away and then look at you funny when you asked for your second drink again. However the bar tenders in the main dinning area were great. I've done all inclusive before and have certain expecations for service and quality. They did not meet either. It was slow so the opportunity to treat guest special was there, but the staff did not use the opportunity. Our air conditonar was broken for two days, they came and fixed it when one of the maids thought she smelled gas. When we asked about the dampness they told us it is the weather. We did have beers waiting for us when we arrived, however it required a can opener to open them but there was none in the room. We were able to use the bathroom lock to open the first, but did have one delivered to the room. It would have been nice if one was already there.. We got random prank calls at night, people hanging up after we answer the phone, it was creepy. The hotel is located off a busy road. You could hear cars beeping and driving buy all day and night. This took a little from being in the tropics. The activites did not occur as often as described. I wouldn't recomend staying here you can get better service and quality for the price we paid. I will say however the beach was clean, the water was nice and the scene was beatuful

Consider elsewhere

Rocky beach you can't walk out into water. Most women bartenders are not friendly. Snorkeling trip canceled after being told for 2 hours we were going. Food is average at best. Daily activities were not as scheduled. Food and beverage service is extremely slow. Beautiful and safe. Excellent massage. Transportation people are friendly. Nice pool. Wonderful HOT climate. Clean rooms with balcony. 24 Hour bar and room service people are the best. Nightly activities make for a good night.

Grand Lido Braca Saved Our Wedding!!

We went to Jamaica to get married in March of 2009 at Hedonism III. Unfortunately once we arrived there we were not comfortable with the amount of sexuality on public display and we did not want to get married there. We were very upset and demanded that we be moved to another SuperClubs resort. Enter Grand Lido Braca. They not only found a room for us on a few hours notice, but they even upgraded us to a room on the beach for no extra money because of the troubles we had already experienced. The real kicker was how seamlessly they were able to prepare our wedding ceremony on two days notice and pull it off without a hitch. The ceremony was beautiful and the staff was SUPERB in their attention to detail in every aspect of the ceremony. Grand Lido Braca is EXCEPTIONAL in every sense of the word. The customer service is beyond reproach, and every single staff member we met was friendly and always striving to make our experience a better one. In addition, the food choices are incredible. We ate at a new restaurant every evening and every meal was delicious. If you are looking for activities there are plenty to be had at Grand Lido Braca. While there we played golf, scuba dived, enjoyed the spa, and all of this was free...included in the price of our room. If you like it quiet, the pool was idyllic and we spent many hours relaxing on a float in the tranquil waters. Lastly, if you are a person that enjoys the clothing optional lifestyle, Grand Lido Braca does have a portion of the resort that is clothing optional. However, unlike Hedonism, their truly is separation between this side and the rest of the resort.

we just returned from Grand Lido Braco. this is FAR from a 4 star resort and definitely NOT one of the "Top 5 Hotels in Jamaica and the Top 20 Hotels throughout the Caribbean, Bermuda and the Bahamas" as stated on their website. while the rooms are nice, they are NOT luxurious. the rooms were clean and neat, but they was nothing special about them. it did appear that the bathroom in our room had been updated and looked nice, but the glass shower door leaked like a sieve and we needed extra towels to keep the water at bay. as for the food -- average at best. the 24-hour room service was a joke. i tried to call at 5:00am to get coffee and bagels, and i could not get an answer, even after calling back 3 times. the drinks were a different story. "Premium brand bar drinks" -- hah! the ONLY beer they had was red stripe, no lite beer at all. as for premium brand alcohol -- the only premium brands i saw were appleton rum, johnny walker black, absolute, and a couple others. you could not get anything you wanted or when you wanted it. at one bar the pina colada didn't have any coconut, at one bar they didn't have pineapple juice, and most drinks had very little alcohol. as for a banana daquari -- forget it -- no bananas. and the service -- SLOW. most servers didn't seem happy to be there and were not too excited make you feel special on your "lavish" vacation. WILL NOT RETURN!

One Laugh After Another...

We just returned from Grand Lido Braco; on vacation with seven other couples. It reached the point that you just had to laugh - or else you would start screaming!

Our rooms were not ready when we arrived and we had no where to change into bathing suits to enjoy the beach or pool. The only "restaurant" that was open served a menu of three sandwiches. You could not get a cocktail, but Red Stripe beer was available if you waited for a bartender to show up and drank it from a small 8 oz. plastic cup. That was our opening day.

Once we settled in we realized that drinking any kind of cocktail was really a waste of time - they didn't put any booze in them! There was constant shuffling of bottles amongst the pool bar, the beach bar and other restaurants. They always had to send for one ingredient or another when you ordered a drink and then you waited. Red Stripe beer was always available in those little cups. Never, not once, did I see a bartender break the seal on a bottle of booze. I am convinced that there was watered down liquor in each bottle. At one point we waited 45 minutes for them to show up with a bottle of vodka - and that was opened and half full.

The food was marginal. The same beef steak that you got at the beach bar was the same beef you got that night in the "fancy" French restaurant. Beach towels did not become available until our last (5th) day there. On our fourth day the resort lost it's water supply - no showers. So that was treat too.

We drank Red Stripe, enjoyed each others company and began plans on where to go next year. The one certainty was that we would not be coming back to Grand Lido Braca, or back to Jamaica for that matter.
