I picked the hotel because of the location - across the street from Penn Station in Newark. From the station it is a 3 hour trip on Amtrak to downtown Washington, DC, and a 15 minute trip by PATH to lower Manhattan. The PATH train costs $1.75 each way.
I arrived at the hotel after 3 days of very heavy rains. In the morning I heard a dripping sound, and found water on the bathroom floor.
I called the front desk and they immediately offered me another room. I had a meeting to attend across town, and I had to leave right away. They offered to move my things to the new room while Iwas gone. I packed my suitcase and left it on the chair.
When I returned from the meeting I went to the front desk and they gave me the key to the new room. It was larger and even more comfortable than the original room [which had been fine, except for the water].
Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Great location for prudential center and getting into manhattan. You hardly even have to go outside to get to the prudential center and the hotel is connected to the train station with a 20 minute train ride to penn station in nyc. Manhattan services with 1/4 the price!!
staff was great too!!

We went to NYC for Thanksgiving & decided to stay in Newark to save money. This hotel was a great price and was everything we expected, and more. The room was very comfortable, the staff was very friendly & the location to the Newark Penn Station was so convenient. Getting to/from Manhattan by the train was so simple. We have been to NYC several times & stayed in Manhattan and at the Newark airport and this was by far the best price & experience so far. We will definitely stay here again.

I chose this hotel based on it's location next to Penn Station. There is a skywalk that connects you so you never have to walk outside. Taking the PATH train to NYC was easy and a very cheap way to travel. I felt very safe. The staff were friendly, rooms were very clean. I'll stay there again. This time I will request a room facing away from the train station, as the noise can be a bit loud during the night.

You can't beat the Penn Station Hilton if your going to an event at the New Prudential Center. You can walk Indoors from your room right to the front door to the arena. Also if your heading into Manhattan during the day, it's a quick 20 min train ride from right in front of the Hotel.
The Bar food is not spectacular and is over priced. But the Bartender is Awesome, and if your like me on vaction, you'll need to know your Hotel bartenter well. I will definetly stay for my next NYC trip.
