Loved it!

We stayed there last year & I told myself I would write them a review because they did such a great job. Then I got home & forgot about it, until we went away again & were so disappointed in the other resort that I had to follow through & give Dreams the review it deserves. Even though the resort is one of the older ones, they have updated it so that it doesn't feel old at all. We take a lot of nice vacations & we have never been better taken care of than at the Dreams Resort in Cancun. The people were amazing. The food was great. We couldn't complain about anything.

Relaxing getaway

My husband and I needed to get away and only could during "spring break" as I am a teacher. From the first moment we walked into the resort, we were amazed. The staff was amazing and super accomodating! When we checked in, we were upgraded to a beautiful ocean view room that had a banner on our door celebrating our anniversary along with champaigne on ice and a personal note welcoming un. (I mentioned it was our anniversary via an email a week prior). The food was great. I wasn't sure how it would be as many all inclusives are just OKAY. We ate many times at the Seaside grill, which is for adults only in the evening. The drinks were great and were constantly refilled. The beach was gorgeous....very intimate as our resort was truly at the point of Cacun, away from the others that are stacked on top of each other. We particpated in many of the free sports as well as night activites. There really wasn't a dull momement. I highly recommend coming to Dreams for truly an occassions. There were children at the resort but there were many activities for them that they were not loud or in the face of others who were trying to relax. I hope to come back to Dreams Cancun in the future if not another Dreams resort. I was happy to hear that they were affliated with the well known Atalantis Resort in the Bahamas!

Dreams is a wonderful resort for a family vacation. The staff is 100% committed to making sure you are happy and comfortable. I had a Deluxe Ocean View room, but I think the lagoon view rooms are just as nice and cost less. The only difference is in the Ocean view room, you can hear and see the ocean and those rooms are very peaceful. The lagoon side will have the sounds of all the people at the pool and the dolphin area, but the view includes the lagoon AND the ocean in the distance. One thing I wasn't prepared for was how much humidity there is by the ocean. It made for many bad hair days and restless sticky nights. Next time I will bring more hats, hair ties, and cotton sheets, because their polyester blend sheets feel sticky when your trying to sleep. You must keep the air conditioner on at all times or you will have condensation everywhere. The floors are marble, the walls are concrete, but the rooms are very quiet and I did not hear any of my neighbors. Service is really great and the majority of the employees speak English well. I speak some Spanish, so I had no problems with communication, but a family member had a language barrier with the housekeeping staff. Most of the housekeeping do not speak English, but it is understood that bi-lingual help is not easy to find and to hire, so they keep the fluent English speakers in jobs that work directly for the guests, like food service, bar tenders, shop keepers, front desk, motor pool and concierge. I loved Dreams and plan to return! It was a really great experience and offered more than I can describe in less than 300 words.

3rd time -and still a charm

This was our 3rd year in a row going to Dreams Cancun and it's still as enjoyable as the first time. We took our kids ages 14 and 10 with us for the first time and they have a great time also! We spent most of our days at the pool-Miguel-is the best pool bartender! We never waited for anything! The breakfast buffet each day has plenty of options. We ate by the pool for lunch everyday-everything was great tasting. Dinner was buffet one night-not my favorite but ok. I prefer Seaside Grill and Oceana-although there service is a little slow-but that was ok! We did not try the Sushi restaurant. The nightly entertainment was ok-but we were usually so tired after dinner and drinking/playing all day- we didn't really have long nights in us! My daughter swam with the dolphins and it was worth every penny-she has the greatest memories from it! We had a complication with our room key-but the front desk was more then willing to take care of the problem-and compensate us! The staff can't do enough for you. We plan on returning again!

Our first impression of Dreams was that it was not what we expected. Upon arrival, the looks of the hotel reminded me of office buildings. When we entered our hotel room (dolphin and oceanview), it looked nice and clean with white and turquiose colors. The bathroom needed updating. The rooms were cleaned twice a day. The food is excellent. I really enjoyed the Oceana restaurant the most but I heard that the Seaside Grill is outstanding. Its adults only and we had kids so we didn't it. The buffet meals were great everyday too. If you love to swim in a swimming pool, then this isn't the hotel for you. The pool is small compared to the beach on the property that is manmade and next to the dolphin pool. We laid out at the beach the whole week and it was fine with us. There are two beaches: the second one is on the ocean side by the towers and more private. We spent our week near the dolphin pool at the beach. The beach area is small but long but it was fine for us. The hotel is spacious and we never felt crowded even though we were there during Spring break. The shows were very nice and overall, a very relaxing trip. If you love nightlife, the nightclubs are within walking distance. I would avoid the Flea Market and take a 10 minute cab ride to this outdoor mall which is much cheaper than the Flea Market. The service was great and very polite. The grounds were always clean. My one daughter did get loose stools and still has them 10 days later which concerns me of what she ate or drank but the rest of us are fine.
