Great for Families, not couples

We had a great time but our main complaint would be that we had to get up very early to get a spot on the beach! We found out after the first day there that people got up at 6AM to go put their towels and stuff on there chairs to reserve a spot so when we went to the beach around 9 or 10AM all the chairs and huts were taken just because they put there stuff on the chair and some of them didn't show up til after lunch time. You can not pay to have your own spot - a lot of people were upset about this and started taking the so called reserved spots and this started some arguments. We then went to the other side where we stayed in the club tower building, that beach is okay, but if it is windy which it was most every day we were there, the sand blows in your face. This beach is not as nice and has a lot of seaweed. We did not get a chance to lay buy the pool or use pool bar because it was always full and all the chairs were taken so we gave up on that. So this was our biggest disappointment.
On the good side, the service was excellent and the food was good. Our room was above average but not the nicest place I've stayed at. It does need somewhat of an update, mostly the bathroom but overall it was nice.
It is a beautiful resort but seemed to be more geared toward families and not so much for couples if you want privacy. They did have one restaurant that children weren't allowed if you wanted to have a romantic night alone.

This all inclusive hotel was great for a family. This was our first trip with our 4 and 6 year old and it was nice that they had so many activities and nightly entertainment that everyone liked. The food and drinks were very good and the service was exceptional. There are drinks in your room and room service. They even provided breakfast in our room when we had to leave at 4:30 AM. The location of the hotel is very beautiful, surrounded by water and the resort is easy to navigate. The only negative was that our room was beside the service elevator and it was very noisy during the night.
best vacation ever

I usually don't write review on hotel, but I just couldn't help it this time...If you're looking for total relaxation and beautiful view 24/7, then you have to stay at Dreams Cancun. Very clean, and safe! Wonderful service!!!!! Food were so so(since I'm very picky on food), but excenllent mixed drinks.
My boyfriend and I had the most amazing time there, definitely going back again!

Staff was excellently trained when it came to customer service but unfortunately they lacked in cleanliness. We arrived with 30 people at the Dreams Cancun resort and by the 4th day 1 out of 3 were terribly ill including the bride. (FOOD WAS CONSISTENTLY COLD) After further investigation we noticed that THEY DO NOT CLEAN THEIR GLASSWARE. They simply rinse it off with a sprayer and refill it. DISGUSTING! When I told the hotel manager about this situation he called me a liar and said "I dont believe you". I then responded "That is fine, i wouldn't recommend this resort to my worst enemy." On top of all this, dont believe them when they say "all inclusive" Everything has its price including the internet that cost me almost $100 for the week. We wanted to snorkel - $30 bucks each - want to swim with dolphins? $160 each - want a bottle of wine $40 - In my oppinion this place does not deserve its "4 star rating"
A good family vacation

This is a very good resort and we have a wonderful time over there during our kid's spring break in March. They are located a little out there away from others which is good because relax in the resort is all we want on this trip. Restaurants are good and Oceana is the best! We love sea food but live in the Midwest; this trip just satisfied our craving big time. The beach is very nice and employee are very friendly. We like it a lot and my kids keep asking me when will we go back.
