Very convenient to airport but long check in lines

I recently stayed here as I arrived in Mexico City in the evening and was flying out in the morning. The hotel is directly connected to terminal one at the airport by an overpass which is VERY convenient and I would stay here again because of its convenience. That said though it was probably the longest check-in line I've ever experienced. When I arrived at 8:30PM to check in there were 25+ people in front of me and I spent 40+ minutes waiting in line to check in. The room was OK but there was a significant slant to the floor and I think the foot of the beds was actually higher than the head of the beds. It's an OK place to crash for a night. It was by far the most expensive room of our trip and the least exciting.

Overall a good hotel. Clean, typical airport hotel. We had dinner at the steak restaurant on the ground floor. The food was excellent. Very friendly staff and helpful. Nothing around for tourist types. Don't recommend venturing out. If you are taking a Taxi, get hotel staff to get it for you.

The Camino Real Aeropuerto's staff is helpful and corteous, the facilities are nice, and overall the hotel is of far better quality than the standard airport lodgings. In the US it would be equivalent to something like the Hyatt at IAH or the Wyndham at SFO. The breakfast buffet is better than average as well, with a wide selection of Mexican food, fruits, juices, teas, coffee, etc. as well as more pedestrian eggs and pancakes for the less adventurous. The only thing that sucked was the cost of Internet access. No wifi, expensive, and it requires a special code that must be sent to the room with a bellboy, who'll also bring a cable. The Internet speed wasn't particularly fast either. I like staying here if I have an early flight the following day, since you can walk to Terminal 1 or take the hotel's shuttle and be in Terminal 2 within 5 minutes.

I shall give the dog another bite.

My room was dismal: two king-size beds (I had asked for one), no space to move, a tiny desk to work and eat, insufficient lighting, small bathroom, needing repairs. When I discussed the matter with the Room Manager she admitted they should not have rented the room because the whole 2nd floor had to be refurbished, but they had an excess of guests and greed prevailed. As I need the airport location to conduct my business, with the assurance of better treatment on the part of Camino Real, I will give the dog a second bite, also because the personnel of the hotel, from front desk to duty Electrician, tried really hard. The price of the room, although obtained at a discount by online travel website, was pretty stiff even not including breakfast and Internet connectivity.

Absolutely fell in love w/ CR. Great view of airport from room, health club and 8th floor pool. V. convenient for flying in/out MEX. Clean. Comfortable. Friendly staff. Nice lounge for upper-level staff. Enchanting Mexican neighborhood behind hotel.
