Very modern room. Granite counter top, skylights, highs-speed internet. Mordern appliances. Felt like I was in a expensive penthouse really nice!! Only thing I didnt like was the fact there was no HBO i.e. besides basic cable. No beach service. We were treated a bit different from most guest throughout the island, but I believe it was because we are really young and BLACK.

The Alexandra Resort and Spa

The accommodations were nice, very clean, and roomy. All rooms have an ocean view, which is incredible!

The beach is beautiful with white powder sand and turquoise water. There’s no coral around if you are snorkeller, but it’s great for swimming and relaxing and the water is very calm because of the reef that protects the island. Not a lot of people were around when we were there because we just missed the tornado, so we practically had a private beach. The best snorkelling we found was just down the beach at a sectioned off area. I can't remember the name of the resort, but the snorkelling there is incredible! The yellow-tailed snappers swim right up to you and before you know it, you will have hundreds around you. It’s a little freaky at first, but they are just curious. It was beautiful, romantic, and the sunsets were incredible!

There’s no nightlife around, but it was a great, relaxing vacation.

Best Things Nearby:
Stretch of Grace Bay Beach. Princess Alexandra National Marine Park (in waters in front of resort). This protected area offers snorkel within walking distance. There is also fishing (two marinas), boating/sailing, scuba, golf, land areas of interest/historical points, and shopping. Other nearby islands offer more areas to discover.

Best Things About the Resort:
Its beachfront location (THE VIEW) among other beautiful properties. Providenciales is both exclusive and comfortable. Amenities are plentiful without being commercialized.

Resort Experience:
The Alexandra Resort is presently being built. The construction in no way hampered my vacation. We stayed on the third floor. The two-bedroom unit has 2 1/2 bathrooms. The unit is spacious and soundproof. There is a doublesized balcony (one off main bedroom and living room areas), as well as a smaller one off the second bedroom. There is a full kitchen and also a washer and dryer. Housekeeping is daily and the place is very clean. There are two TVs, one with a DVD (rentals at resort).

The free-form pool with swim-up bar is beautiful. The poolside restaurant serves full breakfast, lunch, and dinner (special event nights with music a couple times a week).

The staff works hard to meet all requests. We had complaints about the air-conditioning and the snorkel equipment and felt our complaints were handled well.

This is a top notch resort with a great pool. Nice beach with tables, chaises, and chairs on the beach. Rooms are spacious and staff accommodating. I would recommend a stay here. They are still under construction, but go to great pains to let the quests enjoy their vacations. The amenities are limited, but will be outstanding when the resort is finished. They have a restaurant and pool bar/grill on site, and are near several restaurants. While the price appears high, you can get deals on the web. This is a timeshare resort.

Best Things Nearby:
The amazing waters and beach of Grace Bay, and easy walk to excellent snorkelling area, a 20 mi nute walk to Ports of Call shopping and retaurant area, and central to many other resorts and dining options.

Best Things About the Resort:
Because the resort is in its infancy and has no real on-site amenities, staying there now feels like independent travel. It is very quiet and peaceful which we enjoyed.

Resort Experience:
The resort units are brand new and comfortable, although it feels as if they are still 'getting it together'. There is s small bar area where continental breakfast is served, and the staff are friendly. However, as I mentioned, they still seem to be figuring out the service aspect, and we learned we could not always rely of staff to call a cab or book a toru when they said they would. having said that, however, the location of this resort is perfect and the gorgeous beach and spectacular sunsets were memorable. If you do not care about all the amenities of a full service resort, (and we don't) The Alexandra is a wonderful option which will undoubtedly only get better as time goes on.
