This was my first trip to the Turks and Caicos Island and it was my honeymoon as well. My husband and I went during hurricane season so everything was pretty low-key and personal. The weather was great, with a few overcast days, but for such extreme heat (90-100) that made it comfortable.
We stayed at the Alexandra Resort which was undergoing some construction, the construction noise was extremely minimal, and there was only one day that we heard it from our hotel room. The room was really clean and spacious; the only thing I have to complain about is the bed which was rock hard. The staff was really friendly as were the people that were staying there as well. The location was excellent! Grace Bay beach was beautiful and since it was low season there were barely anybody on the beach. The pool was really pretty it's definitely a nice break if you want a day away from the salty water and it has a swim-up bar. We went snorkeling and parasailing, it was so much fun and cheap! We were even snorkeling along the beach and saw a stingray and went sand dollar diving.
The cheaper places to eat were a Calico Jack's, Pizza Pizza, Tiki Hut and Angela's Deli, the bill totaled to be under $* for the both of us. The Orchid had a Caribbean Cookout night on Monday night that was $* per person and it was an all-you-can-eat. We didn't have enough time to eat other places. For breakfast we just went to the Graceway IGA supermartket and bought soda, snacky foods, and cereal to save some money. Most of the activities were charge by credit cards, so you really didn't need to bring a whole lot of cash. We paid for all of our food in cash though and that was roughly $* for 8 days/7 nights.
It's definitely a smart move to rent a car from Grace Bay Car Rentals instead of Hertz, Avis, or Budget it is far cheaper.
We will mostly like go back in another couple years or so!

I was very impressed with my enitre trip. Turks and Caicos has beautiful beaches and friendly people, since tourism is their main business, they make sure you feel welcome. The resort was wonderful and I can honestly say that even with 3/4 of the island under construction it will definitely NOT affect your stay.
The food was okay, and in my opinion not worth the prices that you will pay, one piece of advice if you stay at the Alexandra- which has a fridge, microwave, blender, toaster, and STOVETOP and even cookware in your room, save some money by going to the supermarket which is about 10 minutes ($8 cab ride) away and buying snacks and food to store in your room. I can't tell you how much we saved by fixing our own, breakfast, lunch and even a few dinners in our room. With our savings we were able to go parasailing and snorkeling. It was really great!
No one bothers you and everyone is welcoming and friendly-especially other guests-LOL.
It's not a party island- this is a place for resting, relaxing and reconnecting. Go to Cancun to get wild and crazy.
I definitely plan on returning to this lovely island and would stay at this resort again. If you are looking for a place for a destination wedding they are most accomodating. Once again I must say, what a truly fabulous, REASONABLE island getaway it was!!!!!!!
A place to remember!

My husband and myself were at this hotel for 5 nights. Everyone was very friendly (Carlos the bell man was very friendly and helpful). The ocean had the clarity of drinking water! Snorkeling was amazing, you don't have to walk but maybe 10 minutes to an amazing reef. The beach was very beautiful and not crowded at all. Food was good, we ate there for almost every meal. We will be returning many more times!!
Very satisfied

The accomodations were great. The kids loved both the pool and beach. Our son has special needs and they were very understanding of him. The food at the restaurant was not the best on the island but was still fair - kids did not mind it.

This property was very beautiful. Our room was extremely elegant with stainless appliance, modern fixtures in bathrooms, granite countertops, and a garden tub. The staff was helpful. The resort is busy enough but not too busy. The only thing they could improve upon is the food.
