Beautiful!

This resort is absolutely beautiful! My boyfriend & I stayed here for 8 days 7 nights. It was breathtaking. The beds were soooo comfortable, sometimes we wanted to stay there all day. The ocean view was breathtaking. We were in building 31 which is right in the middle. The girl at the front desk tried to put us in building 29 which from the map I could see it was on the outskirts of the resort & from other reviews I knew it was right next to construction. After some stern refusal from me she reluctantly changed my options. We had to settle for two queen sized beds but he's 6 foot 2 and we were still fine. The other bed was actually good to have for more room. Next time, I would probably stay at the Rose, though. I had heard how horrible the beds were there but when we went there via free shuttle, we talked to some people who said all the beds have beeen replaced and are now very comfortable and new. Also, it is closer to town which I would have preferred because at the Sunset Beach, your stuck up there and all the restaurants are very expensive. We wanted to eat at cool taco shops but had to go all the way to town for that and some fun party scenes. You can't eat at any of the restraunts at the Sunset Beach for two without spending at least $60 each time. We found a delicious taco place in town called "The Tacqueria" , We had two carne asada taco's each and two coca cola's for $5.80 total! It was authentic and delicious. The sushi at Sunset Beach was incredible though and I loved hearing the Ocean to fall asleep to.

Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach

This is truly a luxury hotel by all standards. I actually ended up staying at this hotel by mistake the first time I went to Cabo. Be careful if you are planning a trip to Cabo and someone tells you to stay at Pueblo Bonito because there are three properties in the Cabo area which I didn't realize until after I got there and found out I had made a reservation at a different hotel then my friends. The other two are Pueblo Bonito Rose and Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos both of which are located on Medano Beach on the Gulf side of the peninsula. The only problem for me with Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach was its location. It is located on the Pacific side of the peninsula which is considerably far removed from town and can be a hassle to get to. The hotel compensates for this by offering a free shuttle that runs two and from the other Pueblo Bonito properties from the AM until 10PM or midnight (can't remember which)The only problem with the shuttle is that it only runs hourly so if you spend the whole day in town and the beach and come home to change really quick it will already have left by the time you get back to the lobby and you'll be stranded for an hour. The shuttle ride itself also takes like 25 minutes each way which gives you a sense of just how far removed this place is. You literally have to go over and around a small mountain to get there.
The other issue with PB Sunset Beach is that because it is on the Pacific side you can NOT swim in the ocean. The waves are huge and the continental shelf drops off just a few feet offshore. There is a beautiful and very wide beach though. Just stay out of the water... The swimming pools provide a great alternative though. They are very large and have multiple bars.
Check in/out at this hotel is very easy and the staff is very courteous and friendly. They take you too and from your room on golf carts because everything on the property is built into a very very steep slope. Plan accordingly if you have reservations somewhere because you will need to call the front desk and have someone sent to pick you up which could take 5 or 10 minutes.
The rooms are spacious and very clean and well appointed. The bathrooms are large with huge stone showers. Each room has an amazing view. This hotel is truly top notch and is on par with any luxury hotel you would find in the states.
This place is great for families and couples....stay away from here if you are going on spring break and want to party and be where the action is. By no means a bad hotel just the wrong choice from a young group looking to have fun.

Its a beautiful resort on the outside, but on the inside you can hear everyone around you, accept when you are listening to the the extra large golf-carts carrying people back and forth 24 hours a day. The time-share people are relentless and the staff was not helpful at all. We explained we were on a romantic trip and they gave us two beds, when we asked to change to a king size they said maybe in a couple of nights! We left and fly home the next day.

I wish some one had warned me before we went....

This was the worst vacation we have ever been on. We had a prepaid package for 5 nights, and left after the first night. We had paid for a "junior suite, king bed, ocean view", we got what they had available = none of the above. So we figured we'd make the best of it, and went to "sleep". I have never stayed in a place with such poor sound insulation. We could hear complete conversations and TV from all the rooms around us, gas powered golf carts outside. First we tried to turn the fan as high as it would go to drown out some of that, which helped, but the toilets seem to use some kind of power flush technology which was unbelievably loud, and people who had been out drinking were coming back to their rooms until about 3-4 AM. We finally got to sleep by about 4 AM. We spoke to the desk clerk several times, but he would just refer us to the manager. There was a long line of people with similar complaints talking to him, so we got in line and listened = he had no interest in helping anyone ahead of us, or us. We tried to call online travel website, but had no cell service, and the hotel charges for all calls - even local, 800, and calling card calls. The other big problem was the constant, unrelenting sales pitches to go to their time share presentation. We told them we were not interested several times, but they would not stop. When we checked out after the first night, the front desk declined to credit us for the remaining 3 prepaid nights. No one even asked if there was a problem - I got the sense that this happens alot.
