The Pegasus is expensive, but worth it if you have the means. The rooms are nice, spacious, and clean. The pool is large, well maintained, and flanked by a nice restaurant. The staff - for the most part - are professional and courteous. The lobby area is spacious, and the grounds are very secure.
Usually, I steer clear from these types of hotels when traveling...I prefer hotels that reflect more of the local culture within a community. In Georgetown, however, it's tough to find good mid-range hotels. I had an awful experience in Hotel Tower, and my girlfriend stayed at the Cara Lodge after I left Guyana, where she characterized the lodging as mediocre at best.
The Pegasus costs more, sure. But in Georgetown, you get what you pay for. Next time I'm in the capital, I'll be at the Pegasus.
