Description: After reading a lot of reviews online, I was a little skeptic on what to expect at this hotel. So after a lot of researching and comparing rates, this hotel was a great deal and offered a lot of what I was looking for. First of all, this hotel is right on the beach, is all inclusive with food and drinks, has a lot of activities, and is very affordable. I have to admit, I was not disappointed and every thing lived up to my expectations.
This hotel when I stayed was going through major renovations and had one of the two wings closed off. So on the first day, we ended up with a room which wasn't quite what we reserved and were told by the hotel staff that no other rooms were available given our late check in time and the lack of total rooms available at that time. So instead of a king size bed, we had 2 double size beds and the room did not look quite finished, it had little imperfections where the door's lock was missing and the lamp would not work. So the next day we requested for another room which was much better, it had a king size bed and every thing was in perfect and working order. The beds were comfortable and the little balcony (its not a walk in balcony) overlooked the pool and part of the ocean. The flat screen tv was a nice touch along with bathroom which was very nice, you can tell it was recently renovated. I was happy with the room and the cleaning maids serviced the room on a timely manner.
The pool was very cold and it was sort of dirty with all of the birds surronding it so we did not use it. It was a big pool but just needed a little cleaning and some of these things I can tell was out of the hands of the hotel staff. The activites were fun, it was up to you whether or not to join them. They included beach bowling, dart throwing, volleyball, and so forth so you were not bored and the staff did a good job of getting every one involved.
The food was excellent, not only in the main buffet dining room but the restaurants as well. The hotel has 2 restaurants in addition to the main buffet room which are also covered in the all inclusive package. You have to make early reservations as they get filled pretty quickly. The food all together was excellent and there was a lot of variety. The pool side grill was excellent as well, I still remember the delicious burgers, hot dogs and fried conch. The food will not disappoint you since there is a lot of variety.
This hotel is not luxurious by any means so if you want more romance and high end rooms then this hotel is not for you. This hotel is perfect for some one who wants a lot for their money and for those who want a lot of facilities. I would highly recommend this hotel, its what made my vacation a memorable one and I would gladly stay here again if I decided to take another trip to the beautiful Bahamas.
