Wonderful Place to Stay, Very Relaxing

We spent a week at White Sands in April and had a wonderful time. If you are looking for fancy, White Sands is not for you. BUT the staff was very accommodating, the room was comfortable, the beach was clean and the people we met were very friendly. No need to go into town - we had everything we needed. We met many returning guests who had nothing but great things to say about White Sands and we totally agree. Many great restaurants along the beach area, great food and great people. You can be sure we will return - soon, I hope!
Great Time

If you are looking for a nice quiet place to enjoy Jamiaca, this is it. The rooms are nice and clean and the grounds on the garden side are beautiful. We loved the fact that there were no TV's or phones in the room. That made it nice and quiet, during the time in our room to use our "imaginations" to keep us busy Lol. The balcony was nice and big and we enjoyed sitting out on it in the mornings and late at night. The location is great and right in the middle of everything when you walk out onto the beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful. All in all we had a great time the six days that we were there and will be back soon.
Would recommend to budget conscious

I recently stayed at White Sands in the Garden rooms which are across the road from the beach side rooms. The location on 7 mile beach is perfect, its about middle ways. The room was clean and spartan, no frills, but then you didn't pay for frills.
Things I liked- very low noise in the area, (mostly just the birds was all I ever heard at night) it is set back far away from the road enough to not hear the crazy taxi's zipping up and down the road and blowing their horns. A lot of privacy, and no transient traffic through the property because it is walled and there was no where to cut through and go to from the property anyways. They employee several guards/grounds people, so safety was never considered an issue. The staff was friendly and easy to get along with. beach side bar was nice to have as well as a short order sized grill for meals (we only ate breakfast there, but I would recommend breakfast at Normas, located just north of there on the beach)
Things I didn't like- No safety deposit box in the room, and the bed I had felt more like box springs than an actual mattress, it was one of the worst beds I have slept on in a hotel. But we were only there 3 nights so I toughed it out.
Overall for the price i don't think you can go wrong with these accommodations, if the bed was up to standard par I would give them 5 stars of satisfaction.
i would stay here again if I could get a suitable bed.

In my opinion, the White Sands is a real find for people who like to have a fun vacation without spending a zillion dollars. It is a simple place but meets all the needs of someone who is coming to the Caribbean to hang out on the beach and soak up the sun and atmosphere. It is not luxurious but adequately appointed and very clean. The location is fantastic, on the best part of the beach, and within easy walking distance of good restaurants and bars.
Our room was on the gardenside, across the road from the beach - which I would recommend. The gardenside rooms are set in very nice gardens and the grounds are well-maintained. The beachside rooms don't have a view of the water, they actually overlook the driveway. We had a nice patio and it was peaceful, quiet and just what we had in mind.
I am astonished to find a place this nice, for this price anywhere in the tropics - let alone on the Seven Mile Beach. We will definitely be back!
