Wonderful, Beautiful, Fun Vacation

My husband was very negative about our grand daughters plan for a wedding at the Sandals in Negril Jamaica. After a great trip, he is now telling everyone how wonderful it was. The staff at Sandals Negril made us feel like honored guests. We were amazed at how they acted like they were having fun doing what they do every day, multiple times a day. The resort was very modern and clean with beautiful decor. Our room was comfortable and the food was unending. After such a negative start, he admits he would recommend this trip to others and would like to return for another stay himself.
The Best Sandals Yet!
My husband and I stayed at Sandals Negril for our six year wedding anniversary. We chose the swim up river suite with butler service. I have to give this resort a 10+. We travel every summer and this was actually our fifth Sandals resort. We both fell under the spell of this intimate home away from home. The food at the restaurants was truly fine dining and yet there were more casual options available that were tasty as well. The accommodations were beautiful and luxurious. We had a wide array of activities and entertainment to choose from whether it was the nightly show which varied according to that day's theme, singing along in the piano bar, or dancing the night away. Daytime activities abounded as well ranging from volleyball to sea kayaking to couples games. Our favorite pasttime of course was laying on the beach and enjoying the amazing ocean vista. The sand is like sugar and the soft ocean breezes make for a day of sheer bliss. The spa at this resort provided us with one of the most indulgent couple's massages we have ever had. Finally, our butlers, Basil and Myron, went above and beyond the call of duty to make our vacation special. Whether it was arranging a romantic candlelight dinner or surprising us with a flower petal infused bubble bath complete with champagne for two, they were always there to help us enjoy our vacation to the fullest. Finally, we have to compliment the staff. We have always loved the Jamaican people but this resort was the creme de la creme. From our driver, to the playmaker Michael, and even our housekeeper, Shauna, we have never been made to feel more like family. Just remember, when you get to Sandals Negril and they say "Welcome home, mon!" they really mean it!
The Best Vacation In Years!

The Staff at Sandals Negril has been the best "Team " to have for our vacation. We have been to Ocho Rios and The Whitehouse and these guys win hands down. The food has been great , the rooms are nice and clean. Our was a little noisy because of the location, near a kitchen, but was ok once the doors were shut. It was smaller than the other Sandals ( you get what you pay for) we have been to but we were just in it to sleep & have a quick nap before dinner.
If you can't find something to do here, you have a problem. As they say here , "It's no problem, Mon!" There is always something going on. Toby is a great guide for snorkeling. He intices the fish into you and gets beautiful photos. (photos are extra $). The other resorts did not do this. The service was fantastic. Deavon was awesome. He stood out to me because of his beautiful and welcoming smile as well as his service. (I grew up in the restaurant business so this is important to me ). My husband was very ill one day. I went down to the beach party to grab a bite to eat. He wondered where my husband was and when I told him, he went and put together a large bowl of soup for me to take up to him. It was the first thing that he had been able to keep down all day. Thank you for everything, Deavon. Keep smiling!
My luggage was lost by the airlines and ended up in the wrong area of Customs. Nichelle, of Guest Services, battled with them and was able to get it for me, whereas I was getting nowheres. It took 2 1/2 days but I finally got it because of her. Thank you, Nichelle!
We saw a lot of couples getting married here (beautiful place to tie the knot). The settings were absolutely gorgeous and both Brides and Grooms looked very happy.
Flowers that the Bride carried as well as all the table decors were beautiful as well. They were all different and had a large assortment of different flowers...your standard flowers as well as tropical ones. (I owned a floral shop so I noticed this right away). The nightly entertainment was awesome. Something different every night. Beach parties, Steel Drum bands (the best in Jamaica), fashion show (I was in that ...thank you Alfia, Christina, Natasha, and Kimshawna, for outfitting me and giving me the confidence to go through with it!), Talent Night, Jamaican night..beautiful Culture Show and a piano bar every night from 10:30 until midnight or longer. Their bar for drinks was open until 3:00 A.M.
Sherre taught me to tie dye a t-shirt. I will teach this to my grandsons. Fun!
Bingo, pool volleyball, water aroebics, Latin Line dance lessons, balloon water toss, and the list goes on and on. Guys, this is all included!! I meant people who didn't know this. Read, read, read....all of your land and water sports ARE INCLUDED! Fantastic value for your dollar, especially today.
We also went down the road about a mile or so (free shuttle leaving from Sandy Bay Beaches, a 5 minute beach walk away, every hour on the hour, to Beaches Negril. This is the family side of Sandals (Sandals does not allow children). I went, to go down the waterslides....included!!! The kids there (even this 56 year old lady) were having a ball.
As you can tell, I had a BLAST!! I normally don't join in on things ie:fashion show, volleyball, but the Staff here has a way of really making you feel special and it seems sincere. Kudos to Mr. Peterkin, the GM of this Sandals....a lovely man as well as a great singer. You have to hear him sing The Big Bamboo!! (he wrote it as well). You'll love it. He is doing a fantastic job as General Manager.
I will come back to Sandals Negril in a heartbeat!!
