Just returned from Ocho Rios, Jamaica 6/27 - 7/4. This was the worst resort me and my family ever stayed while vacationing. Service was horrible, housekeeping was horrible and the 2 of the 3 rooms we stayed in were crappy. The 1st room in the North Tower we had a 2 double beds and they put a roll away bed in the small cramp room...WHY? We haven't figured it out yet. It was me, my husband and our 11 yr old daughter. The lamp had no lamp shade, the patio film was peeling, there were itty bitty ants crawling every where. The second room in the South Tower, the air conditioner did not work it was blowing air but it was not cool or cold just room temperature air and it was in the high 90's. The patio would not lock...had to open and slam the patio approx 20 times for it to lock. The maintenance came and open the vents so the room temperature air would blow on us and he said he fix the problem...NOT, I mentioned to him that the patio would not lock and he opened and slammed the patio 20 times...I counted and giggled because I knew he wouldn't be able to fix it, he told us he had to go get some screws and he would be back in 15 minutes...well I'm back in Stockbridge, GA and we haven't seen him since. After 2 nights of castrophe, me and my husband couldn't take it anymore so we complain to the manager...didn't do any good! My husband had to cut a fool 2 times regarding the air conditioner and I demanded to be moved to a room with an air conditioner that worked...third was a semi charm!

We have been to Jamaica before, and we have always stayed at the all inclusive. We stayed here about three years ago and we thought we would try it again. They had the new road built so we thought the bus ride would"t be that bad. We liked the craft place down the road from this place. The only complaint we had was the casino, what a joke. There was only about 18 machines with half of them not working. We liked the Italian rest and the Ginger Lady
Not great as once was!!

My wife and I have stayed at the "Sunset" at least 10 times but probably not again. We started in about 1996 off and on. In the "old days" it was a great and fun place to stay. But gradually things went downhill from the food, to the service, to the upkeep and the cleaness. There was a change in ownership a few years ago, and from that time on things just were not the same. The staff is smaller and less friendly and effective, the food is definitely not as good or as diverse, and the overall resort is just not at the high end anymore. Check in can sometimes take literally hours and if you have problem and wish to talk to someone in authority, good luck!! On one visit 3 years ago, we were promised a free 3 day stay and are still waiting for that. No one just seems to care whether you stay or leave. The only thing we really like as before is the fact that you can walk from the resort to the shopping areas or any place in the downtown area of Ocho Rios in just a few minutes and along a public beach much of the way. Since this is something we both enjoy having made many friends in the local shops and businesses and visit then each year. Pay a little more for one of the nicer places in "Ochie" and you will have a more enjoyable get-a-way!
Great

My wife and I were there during remodels and construction of the water slide. I thought that this was absolute paradise. We are in our early 20's and I would highley recomend this to people of all ages. The food and drinks are by far more than I ever expected, the staff were really great and the grounds were kept up very well. All in all this was the best vacation spot I have been to and am looking forward to going back. Also the location of the resort is ideal, right on the corner with a long portion of whitesand beach and the other is a concrete breaker. This time I am bringing a fishing pole. They also had live entertainment every night I was there.
Love this Resort!!

I have been to this resort a total of 5 times and I never seem to want to stay somewhere different. I had been there in March and May of 2008 (can you tell I love it there) and both times were just as amazing as the first three in years prior. Everyone at the resort was so friendly, in fact people that I had talked to in March remembered me when I came back in May. The food was delicious and with the various nightly activities, there is no time to be bored. I have already been there 5 times and I am planning my next trip back.
