Romantic Getaway at Libertador

  • November 30, 2008

We decided to take a romantic getaway to Arequipa and had no idea where to stay, the Libertador is the only 5 star hotel in the city and it was almost natural to select. We particularly liked the restaurant in the hotel, since it was near the poolside it was the perfect atmosphere we were looking for.

The facilities are fantastic. It’s a hotel with enchantment and personality, and the treatment is friendly and attentive. My girlfriend and I had some incredible days alternating between the bed and the hotel Jacuzzi. It a different style of hotel that is nice to find. The breakfast was great and Peruvian food is with out a doubt impossible to beat. I hope that I can some day come back because there were a lot of things left to explore in Arequipa and I lot to enjoy at the hotel.

We knew very little about Arequipa, we had only seen images of the Misti on the Internet. But when we got there, it was marvellous to see it was so big; it seem like it was almost floating in the sky. It was quite the spectacle. The beautiful landscapes, the good treatment, the good rest, the tranquillity of the place y the excellent service that we were given made our stay at the hotel very pleasant.

Arequipa was lovely city. It was bigger than I had expected and the scenery was just to die for.
I had a very pleasant stay at the Libertador. No real complaints. I think it was one of the best hotel around if you are willing to pay the price. I always try to go out of my hotels for food because it tends to be cheaper, not to mention you get to know the city a little more. But i had some bad luck a couple of restaurants in Arequipa. Luckily, the hotel had an excellent restaurant that was not too over priced.
Their Ceviche was very good and I even tried the Alpaca which is definately a must! happy travels!

This was a great hotel for the family. I have two kids under the age of 10, and the hotel was perfect for them to run around. They had a great pool, which was relaxing for me and my wife and fun for the kids. My teenager mostly enjoyed the internet. Overall though the hotel was wonderful. The staff was very helpful and understanding of the two munchkins running around. One of them even hid in one for the cleaning closest right before we had to leave for the airport. my wife was about to have a heart attack until one of the cleaning lady´s showed but laughing with our youngest and told us where he had been. Luckily they had a good sense of humor about it.
