I have stayed at Dreams before, in other locations. The hotel was great until a tropical sorm hit and thbe lobby was not sturdy enough to handle it. The celing got waterlogged and 20 ft pieces of sheetrock can crashing down. The lights the beams everything. When I complained they d=sdaid that it was envirnmental and there was nothing that they could do for us. Isn't it a tropical climate, shouldn't they be able to handle a tropical storm? What happens if a hurricane hit?? The staff is great and I know that it says that gratuities are included but the staff works hard and desrves a tip. even a few bucks for dinner is good.

I Love Dreams Resorts. I have stayed at many other locations. This location however was great until a tropical storm hit, and the lobby was not sturdy enough to handle it. The celing (sheetrock) and the lights and the beams can crashing down and almost hit us. The sheetrock can down in 20 Ft chunks. When I complained they told me it was environmental. This is a tropical area why can you not handle a tropical storm? What happens when a hurricane hits? The staff is excellent and the hotel is beautiful. If a storm hits STAY IN YOUR ROOM!! Also I kow that it says that gratuities are included, but the staff does work really hard and deserves a tip, especiaaly if they are very good. Even a few bucks at dinner as a thnk you.

I recently stayed at Dreams Punbta Cana. Thiss is not our first time staying at a Dreams, we always stay at one because we love the resorts so much. This vacaction was great until the lobby celing fell while my husband and I were sitting on the couches. 20 ft pieces of sheetrock came crashing down about 16 feet. Could have really been hurt. Thre funny thing is is that no one said anything about it. They said it was enviromrntal, yes there was a tropical storm, but it was mild. What happens when a hurricane hits?? The floor on the level above us was fine, just the ceiling below crashed down. On a good note the staff is excellant, everyone is friendly. They make you feel quite welcome. The food is excellant, and the hotel is very clean. My only advice is if there is rain STAY IN YOUR ROOM!!

We were in the 'best' room they had. Constantly hot 75-78 degrees. Mini bar fridge broken. Our "upgraded premium" mini bar consisted of 4 sodas, 2 waters and 2 local beers. That's IT. 90 degree heat all day, coming back to a hot room with nothing cold to drink was awful. All of the restaurants were just as hot inside. There was literally no where to go to get cool. I would say the 'gift' shop (more like a gross dollar store) had the best air conditioning. Don't expect to shop for any nice gifts, that's ALL there is. The food. HORRIBLE. We struggled all week to find stuff to eat for all of our meals.Sierra Chicken from the Sea Side Grill. '2 grilled chicken breasts topped with tomato'. Okay. Well it was ONE BOILED chicken breast with stewed tomatos dumped on top. It was un-edible. They say that their main lobby bar has Heineken, Corona, Bud, Bud light. NO, they do not. They moped around to find my husband ONE Budweiser after he asked for each of the others. They push their local beer and seem agitated if you ask for another. If you're like me and hate their "Presidente" beer, you're stuck with mixed drinks all day.Order doubles. The drinks are so watered down, it will take you 20 drinks to catch a buzz. Top shelf stuff is actually filled up by the cheap stuff. The shower. Lava hot, ice cold, back and forth. It was horrible.Stopped by guards if you want to go to the beach after 6pm. They said you WILL be mugged. Don't forget anything in your room, you'll have to walk 300 yards to get back to get it. Luggage pick up. Never showed, had to drag it 300 yards ourselves in the heat.
