This is one of the few vacations I have ever gone on that I actually lost weight. The food here was absolutely horrid. I didn't even want to rate the food a one. If this tells you anything, the other people I was with nicknamed the two buffets "Hell Hut" and "Dungeon of Doom". The restarants at night we edible at best. The drinks there are unbelievably sweet. I was happy to find they had Dewars, but who wants to drink scotch on the beach? The resort is nice. I found the grounds to be well maintained and the rooms to be comfortable. The beach was very very very windy. The pool was nice. Don't go if you are on a honeymoon. Lots of screaming kids. I would NOT rocommend this resort. Look elsewhere.

An excellent vacation starts at Catalonia reception desk. The staff were very helpful, nice and friendly.The accomodation was clean. The food was great and nutritious. Every employee tried to make our vacation memorable. The nightly ballet shows were excellent. Service at all the restaurants were great. The lagoon pool was visitor friendly and safe.Comparing this vacation to others, this resort can be qualified as a 5 star not based on physical appearance but the courteous hospitality of the entire staff. Do you want to have a memorable vacation? Then go to Catalonia resort.Overall our vacation was a smashing success.

we have stayed there 3 times, i found the food very good, the 9 hole golf course on site was alot of fun, and in good shape. i am planning to go back march 2008. the bed could have been a little firmer. the bar staff didn't seem to make a difference if you tipped or not. the maid staff was excellent every time, but i do tip them. very hard working and were always friendly. beach is excellent. have always had a great time. note this is the only place i have go to more then once in the last 22 years of traveling.

The Catalonia was a great choice for all of our needs. We could relax on the beach or have fun at the disco. Food was better than I've read about and the service was very good. We enjoyed our stay for 8 days and 7 nights. Will come back again.

Catalonia Bavaro is an excellent choice for all of your needs. Food was very good at all of the restaurants, casino is small, but OK. Rooms are very clean and nice. Pool is clean and the beach, very nice. Even the disco was good. Staff's very friendly, drinks are on the weak side but that's minor. Plenty to do, my wife and I were there for 8 days and 7 nights and never got bored. Overall, had a great time here, will come back again.
