What an awful experience!!! First of all the internet rate we got magically changed by the time we checked in with no apologies or corrections from the unfriendly staff. They said, "on the internet it says prices subject to change." The food was good but gave all four of us food poisoning! We were sick for two weeks afterwards. The bartenders were so unfriendly! One night we tried to eat in the nice restaurant but didn't fit the dress code(we were wearing flip flops) so they didn't let us, even though the following night we saw a spanish family in the same restaurant wearing flip flops! No apologies again. I think the drinks were watered down because you couldn't taste any alcohol. My friend got married here and during her walk down the aisle with her dad the wedding planner didn't stop people from going on the path with her. So here were hairy men and little kids wet from swimming passing her in what could have been a touching moment! The other thing is when my friend checked in for her honeymoon suite they had also booked on line they had given it away! Awful experiences were had by all!!

We were encouraged to stay here by our daughter and son-in-law who had honeymooned here 2 years ago. The setting on a private beach is beautiful and all the rooms have gorgeous ocean views. Even the rooms without balconies have sliding glass doors and a railing just outside the door so it is like an in room balcony. We had a basic deluxe room with a balcony that was really nice. The room was spacious but not extremely luxurious. I don't know why, but whenever we stay near the beach, we don't seem to mind things being a little worn. Maybe it is the sound of the waves that lulls us into contentment. The big negative for our room was a very hard mattress. After the first night we informed management and they sent up a large thick pad, when they put it on we saw that there were already 3 other egg crate type pads on the bed. The additional pad didn't help much, so we finally complained enough to get them to change the mattress for a newer one from an unoccupied room. What a huge difference this made in our entire stay. A staff member said they are gradually changing out the beds. I think this should be top priority.
The beach area is loaded with palapas (large umbrellas) and lounge chairs so you can choose your own semi-private shade spot and lounge by the ocean. In the fall they have baby turtle releases that are quite an experience. The food was better than we had expected from some of the reviews. We arrived on Friday which is Mexican Fiesta Night and the food was fantastic. There are many healthy options for fresh fruit and salad. Free room service was great. All in all, a good time.
Not so much a dream!

We have been so spoiled over the years going to new resorts that this one was old and disappointing. It was clean and the staff was nice but the overall property, pools and amenities were lacking compared to other vacations. I really don't think that the 4 star rating was justified. I would give it a 3.5 and had the food not been the best that I have ever had at an all inclusive I would have rated it a 3 star.

Our trip, Sept. 29-Oct. 4, was blessed with terrific weather and great accomodations. I went with a bunch of seasoned travelers and foodies. The new tower was closed, but we found our older rooms to be okay. The staff at the hotel and the beach were great! The pools were really nice and the bars were fun, fast, and free. The food here is really good. We are self employed and had wireless internet in our room for $69 US for the entire week which is a great deal. Go to Chico's Paradise about 5 miles away to have a great margarita and watch the local boys dive off the rocks. Go into PV and don't miss the beautiful bronze sculptures all along the beach and go to the Church for a true Mexican experience. Love PV and Dreams was great!

My fianc? and I stayed at the Dreams Resort during the last week in September 2008 and had an amazing time. The resort is nestled between the mountains and has a beautiful view and private beach. The resort has a quiet, relaxing atmosphere, and I would highly recommend it to couples and families. I would not recommend it for the Spring Break crowd.
The customer service at the resort is outstanding. The entire staff is very polite and friendly. Service was always prompt. It is not necessary to tip the servers but is very much appreciated and well deserved.
The food was good overall. Each restaurant offers a variety of choices for every taste. The portion sizes tend to be small compared to American portions, especially on the room service menu, but we never felt hungry. Drinks were easy to order by the pool. Try the Mango Tango and Dirty Monkey. Also, make sure you specify the type of liquor you want.
Yes, the rooms could use some updating. Construction was actually underway during our trip, but it went unnoticed. The room was fine for our purposes; we only retreated there to change clothes and sleep. Make sure to pack a travel alarm clock/watch.
The resort makes an effort to have different activities planned throughout the day at no extra charge. Activities include yoga, kayak tours, rock climbing, jungle trek, beach volleyball, tequila tastings, etc. You are under no pressure to participate. If you have the opportunity, make sure to participate in the baby turtle release program. This is an amazing experience! There are also several other day activities available to you for additional fees.
There is not much of a nightlife at the resort, but the staff arrange for different clubs/bars for guests to visit if they wish.
