dirty table

Overall our stay was very nice. The only negative was our dining experience at the mexican restaurant on site El Patio. The restaurant itself was very musty smelling. The table we sat at was dirty, the table cloth and the dishes already on the table were soiled. We would have just thought that the table may have not been bussed but we were seated just as the restaurant was opening.

We just finished our second stay at Dreams, and already know that we will go back again. As soon as we arrived at the front desk to check in, it just felt like we were back home. Everything about the place is just very comfortable. It is not too big, so it is not hard to find your way around. The private beach is amazing. The restaurants are all very good, and the staff is excellent. Especially good are the Dreams Entertainment Team, who help keep you occupied both day and night. The location is terrific if you like going into town for shopping, dancing, etc. It is only a 5 minute cab ride and only costs 50 pesos. The location is only a liability if you want to take an excursion from the marina, since that is a half hour or so away

Dreamy!

We spent 3 nights here and absolutely loved it. Didn't do anything but lounge on the beach, eat, and drink - it was wonderful. Would probably want to try some of the many activities that are available if we were to have stayed longer. This place is not perfect, but it has so many redeeming qualities that it's easy to look past the small things. The beach is absolutely beautiful. We saw whales from the beach on our first day there. Also saw mantarays swimming close to shore, flying fish, iguannas, crabs - very cool. The food was terrific. The on site restaurants were very good - our favorites were the Seaside Grill and Oceana, where we could have a table outside next to the beach. The inside restaurants smelled a little musty, but we got used to is quicklky and the food was great. The room was very nice, and it was great to be able to go to sleep listening to the waves crashing in. The bed was not the most comfortable, but we still slept well. The staff was extreemly friendly. The bar tenders weren't always very consistent in how they poured the drinks, but that just added to the charm of the place for us

We just returned from the Dreams resort in Puerto Vallarta, and our stay was fantastic! The staff is amazing! You are pampered and given exceptional service. The wait staff will learn your favorite drink and bring it to you as soon as you are seated for dinner. It's a good idea to bring some one dollar bills or get some pesos so you can tip the people who are serving you. They work really hard and provide wonderful service and deserve a couple bucks for their efforts. The food is amazing! The seafood is so fresh! Our favorite restaurants were El Patio and the Seaside Grill. We also thought the room service was wonderful. It was always quick, hot, and delicious. Try the chef specials...they were really good. Overall everything was wonderful. However, the only turnoff was the decor in the main lodging area (in the rooms not the lobby). It's a little outdated, but don't let that dissuade you from going. And we heard they will be updating it soon. Lastly, don't be afraid to take the taxi cabs. We felt very safe and we thought the fares were reasonably priced. Just make sure to negotiate the price with the driver before you take off. We would just ask one of the bellhops what the going rate was to get to town or the airport and we knew not to pay more than what the bellhop suggested.

Just okay, nothing special

Everything was average except for the actual room which I thought was below average. Out dated, uncomfortable bed/bedding, less than lovely bathroom facilities. It wasn't a bad experience because the beach was great and we could spend out time there but overall I think I will try somplace else next time.
