A Wonderful Experience

Excellent luxury 3 Star hotel in the heart of Rome.
From the top of the terrace, unfortunately open just during the sunshine, you can have a breathtaking view of the Pantheon and of the roofs of Rome.
I was there with my husband and we really had a memorable time...
If you are planning to visit Rome I really suggest you to stay there.

Stayed at this hotel in April 2008. Surprisingly spacious room accommodated three of us very comfortably. Clean and well appointed, including a large marble fitted bathroom. Staff was excellent--friendly and helpful -- which was appreciated since we don't speak any Italian other than a few phrasebook phrases--even gave our son a second pair of slippers after he commented how much he liked them. Breakfasts were delicious and included fresh warm pastries. Attractive bar area. Location was fantastic--view of Pantheon from our window and within easy walking distance of Coliseum, St. Peters, Spanish Steps and Piazza Navonna. We always felt safe, even at night. The only downside was the restaurants in the area, although numerous, were expensive and touristy. But without a doubt this hotel made our first trip to Italy a wonderful time. We would definitely stay here again.

Great Location, Great Hotel

In our recent stay in Rome, my wife and I stayed at the Albergo del Senato hotel which was located in Piazza della Rotunda right next to the Pantheon. In fact, our window faced the piazza which gave us a breathtaking view of the Pantheon, which was absolutely amazing. The best thing about this hotel is the location. In the heart of Rome, you are a short walk away from every major attraction in Rome, including the Coliseum, the Roman Forum, the Vatican, the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, etc. When staying here, you are also very close to many restaurants and shops, as well as near Piazza Navona and Campo de Fiori. The next best thing about the Albergo del Senato is the staff. We found them to be both friendly and extremely helpful, and they also do a good job of keeping non-guests out of the hotel, which was nice to see given the amount of people that hang out in the piazza. The room itself was also quite nice. We stayed in a suite, and although it was not as nice, or a big, as I expected based on the photos on the website, it was still a nice size room and a good value for the price. They had Sky TV, which enabled us to have 3 English speaking stations (Fox, Sky World, and CNN), which was 3 more than we had during the rest of our stay in Italy. The bed was a little stiff, but comfortable nonetheless. The main complaint I would have about this hotel was the lack of Internet connectivity in the room. Unless I overlooked it, I didn’t see any way of accessing the Internet, except for a computer in the main lobby, which was 5 Euros for about an hour of time. I also didn’t notice any wireless networks available in the room. However, these complaints were insignificant when you consider the location, quality of hotel and room, and friendliness of staff. In addition, there is almost nothing better than to open you window to the sights and sounds of Piazza della Rotunda and enjoy all of this from your hotel room. I highly recommend you book early and request a room facing the piazza. Also, they offer personal transportation from the airport for just slightly higher than the normal cab fare. I also recommend you take advantage of this feature, as it is a good way to kick start a vacation in one of the best cities in the world.
