My favourite hotel in the world

I have stayed at the Sacher off and on for ten years . I have never been disappointed.
It is quite simply my favourite hotel in the world. Each beautifully decorated room or suite is different ( though I have never stayed on the new top floors). Comfort, warmth and exquisite taste, along with dark reds and greens and lovely antiques spell romance and a sense of inner well being.
The staff are well trained welcoming and always thoughtful and helpful ( slightly less points for the sometimes grumpy concierge) I love hotels where they show you up to your room.
x and her daughter seem to be ever present in the attention to detail.
An evening at the opera, just a few yards away, is best rounded off with a pair of Sacher Wuerstel ( Wieners) horseradish a fresh roll, a crisp green salad and cold beer at the Sacher Cafe. Oh and of course a slice of the eponymous Torte if you must..................

This hotel is synonymous with Vienna. Named after the world famous cake "Sachertorte" and located right behind the state opera this hotel is truly one of Vienna's luxury hotels (next to Hotel Bristol and Hotel Imperial). Try the famous cake at the first floor coffeehouse of the hotel.
