Hotel Inglaterra is a Perfect Location

We stayed just one night in the hotel, because we always think it's a good idea to get to a city where a cruise is starting the day before, just to make sure there are no cancellations or problems. Hotel Inglaterra is convenient as it is a short walk from Placa Catalunya where the airport bus leaves you off. La Rambla, the main shopping street, and the Old Town are nearby.
The corner room with two windows was not large but comfortable and quiet, even on the street side, and there was a very nice, very modern bathroom. It's an elevator building, which we are finding more necessary as we grow older. I found the hotel through the site venere.com, which I like because you can search by location.
Breakfast was 8 euros each but worth it: a wide choice of breads, eggs, meats, cheese, juice.

We just returned from Barcelona. Great hotel just steps from the metro (underground). Walking distance to Hard Rock Cafe. Take the tourism double decker bus. The hotel has discount tickets. Best move we made. We saw everything, then took the metro to the places we wantedt to spend more time at. Hotel room was small, but how much time do you really spend in it. Shower and sleep, then hit the town. Eat breakfast at the locations next door.

Hotel Inglaterra enjoyes a perfect location. It is only a couple of blocks from the Ramblas and one block from the aerobus stop. The room was small but adequate. The bathroom was fine. It was a little difficult to use the hand held shower but there was an 1800 watt hairdryer. The only mirror was in the bathroom. Desk staff were very helpful and spoke English. I did not take the breakfast which was expensive but there is a cafe viena right next door. The walls are a little thin and though in general the room was quiet, I could hear noisy neighbors in adjoining rooms.
There is a metro stop one block away and a bus touristic stop within the block. Get on the bus there and avoid long lines at Placa Catalunya. Beware, you can easily get off the aerobus at Universitat but can not board there for the return to the airport. You must go to Placa Catalunya.

My husband and I stayed ad the hotel in August and found it to be very accommodating. Even though it is considered a 3star hotel, it had the feel of at least a 4star hotel. The breakfast was much more than we expected. The location is ideal - centrally located. We highly recommend and will stay again.

Hotel Inglaterra was everything we expected it to be. Clean and centrally located. We were on the fourth floor with small balcony in each room. We had adjacent rooms as requested. The soft fluffy towels, very large, were a bonus. Clean bathrooms, shower and tub allowed for a long soak after walking around the city. Room service was very efficient and prompt. My son was curious to see the roof terrace in the evening and was disappointed to find it closed. He asked if they could open it and they did so immediately. The reception staff were very nice and accomodating and when asked to recommend a good tapas restaurant, directed us to a memorable dining experience. I would definitely return to this hotel and I as I am usually a fussy guest when it comes to hotels and my expectations I do not say this lightly.
