All the activities of Cancun--the clubs and shopping. Within an hour or two--the Mexican ruins/temples. Great beach!
Best Things About the Resort:
The relaxed atmosphere. The service given with a smile. The cleanliness. The beautiful
sand beach and ocean.
Resort Experience:
We were a group of seven people--my hubby and I are middle-aged Midwesterners and working for an airline, so I/we have traveled extensively, and the rest were teens. Our room was right next to the pool and was immaculate; I even noticed that when people checked out, they moved all the furniture in the rooms and cleaned behind and under everything!
The food was amazingly good. We had breakfast in the buffet every morning, and at night, you can choose the buffet or a Mexican or Italian restaurant. The pool area at the Oasis Playa was wonderful. The pool was huge, and they were out cleaning it every morning, but again, you'd have to get out there before 9am to get a chair! Overall, I would rate the service we received wonderfully! The bartenders would see my husband coming and be pouring his beer for him. I like to drink rum and Coke, and they would hand-pour my rum out of the bottle for me. We did tip them a couple of times, but mostly we said a lot of "gracias" and smiled. All service was always done very graciously and with a smile.
The hotel seemed very full, and there were many Europeans staying here and also many Mexicans (or at least other Spanish-speaking guests) here, especially over the weekend. Overall, I rate this hotel a 3 to 3 1/2 stars. I would stay at the Oasis Playa again, and so would everyone else in our group.
