This would be a beautiful hotel if the construction were completed. The grounds were meticulously cut with the exception of the bug spraying clouds after dinner, which would float up to your rooms! The rooms were very nice and well kept!

Best Things Nearby:
Vallarta Adventures -- we actually walked to their facility. Bus service to Puerto Vallarta was fun and easy.

Best Things About the Resort:
The beach and pool and the service they gave you at these areas. Several people have mentioned the pool water was cold. We were there in early April and the water was just fine. When walking to the left when facing the ocean we actually found several great places for seashells. I also enjoyed the waves and the great body- and boogie-boarding. I am in my 50s and I still love to do this. The waves were great for this.

Resort Experience:
The place was well taken care of an very clean. We had no issues with our unit. Our unit was a one-bedroom unit. It included a kitchen/dining room/living room, bedroom, bathroom, and two separate bathroom sink areas. They had a turndown service at night complete with a chocolate on your pillow. It was an extremely nice place.

The resort has the feeling like you are in Disneyland, complete with train and boats around the property. Everything is constantly being attended to and in perfect condition.

When you look up at the seventh floor on the main building, look to the right. There is a helicopter pad. I went up to the seventh floor and saw the massive doors leading into the Presidential Suite. I inquired as to who stays there. I also asked if I had enough money could I rent it. They informed me there were only two people that stayed in that suite: the owner of the resort and the President of Mexico and his family. When we were there, I guess the President’s daughter and family was there. I think that pretty well sums up the quality of this resort.

The Mayan Palace in Nuevo Vallarta is HUGE! The grounds are beautiful. There was no problem finding a chair at the pool or the beach, and it never seemed crowded, although there were a lot of guests at the hotel. There's a small (Disney-like) train that runs throughout the property, as well as a river with kayaks, etc. The pool seems to go on forever, with fountains, whirlpool, etc. The hotel/timeshare is very nice -- the lobby is attractive and the buildings are ok, but rather uninteresting architecturally. We stayed in a hotel unit, which was small, but nice. The hotel staff was accommodating and friendly. The hotel golf course was boring and over-priced (flat, several temporary greens).

Best Things About the Resort:
Beautiful pool, gardens and unit.

Resort Experience:
This was our first stay at a Mayan Palace resort and we were very impressed. We've stayed at several of their other resorts since then. The landscaping was so lush and pretty. The resort was beautiful and our unit was very spacious with top quality finishings. Daily maid service was great. There were many activities for the children to do. The pool was awesome. We never saw anybody swim in the ocean. There are several nice restaurants and shops at the resort.
