This hotel was fabulous. Everything from the open air hacienda-style lobby to the luxurious guestrooms and gorgeous views this hotel describes perfection. You do really get the feel that you are in colonial Mexico, but you also can enjoy modern amenities. The property has 4 large pools, and one with a swim up bar. The hotel has a large shopping area on the first floor. There is a man sitting outside of one of the shops all day creating Mexican crafts doing bead work. It looks very difficult.
During the fall months the hotel participates in a Turtle habitat program. They will dig up the eggs after the sea turtle lays them and they will hatch them and release them in effort to increase the chances of survival for the turtles. The release is the cool part because they will hand you a little baby turtle and you get to name it and release it. They even give you a birth certificate. How cool is that.
The rooms are wonderful. They include the famous heavenly bed that the Westin brand offers. The shower carries that heavenly brand name too. It is a walk in shower, with a large area and dual shower heads. We had a wonderful oceanfront room with a balcony. It was ultimate relaxation sitting on the balcony. I would close my eyes and listen to the ocean.
The only downside to this hotel is that the rates are not all-inclusive like many of the other hotels in the area, and the food and drinks can be pricey. Other than that this hotel is perfection.
