We go to PV every year and have stayed at various resorts. We will go back to the Westin. We decided to use the public bus system this year - definitely the way to go. Hotel staff was full of smiles, activities were great, conciege was always helpful. Beds & pillows were the best we've experienced and our white down comforter was crisp and clean. The large bathroom with walk-in shower & dual heads was perfect for 4 people in the room. The nearby marina restaurants offered excellent food, cold beer and readily offered free shots of tequila.

My husband and I have traveled to many places in Mexico. Our stay at The Westin was by far the best ! We loved our room, the view, the pool and the location! We loved that we could walk to the marina and find everything we needed. Our only dissapointment was that there are no lounge chairs on the beach.
okay hotel with nice staff

the bathroom shower leaked, the faucet was not attached to the sink. One day we would get the proper # of towels and some days we would get washclothes, one day we would get 1 cup and the next day we would get 2 cups. They have coffee pots in the room but only provide coffee for 1 day, so when you call they inform you that now you have to pay for the coffee. The service at the restaurant at the beach was horrible, The food was good but a little expensive. The location of the hotel was good but unfortunately the early morning (7:00)staff is noisey in the courtyard rolling carts etc. The staff and front desk people were all very nice and helpful. I would go back there maybe but not with the idea this was a 4 star hotel. Only blocks away the marina has a wonderful array of restaurants, the city bus also is a good option for people to go to downtown for only 55cents, and it stops right in front of the hotel.
Great View

We stayed on the 14th floor for 5 nights. From our balcony, we had a great view of the pools, ocean and the marina. An easy 10 minute walk to the marina for some great dining. We usually had breakfast at the hotel but other meals were done either in the marina area or downtown.
Was not impressed with the hotel menu for dinner. Only bad experience was waiting 50 minutes for a cold chicken sandwich at Nikki Beach.

We loved the architecture of the hotel, the mexican vibrant colors, and the views from our room were great. The service was very warm and friendly, as usual in Mexico. We had a great experience when we ordered a linen suit to be ironed last minute (we were attending a wedding). They took care of it in a flash.
The cons: the breakfast buffet is generous but in Mexico it is unheard of paying $40 and still get canned juice, instead of fresh squeezed. Go eat somewhere else in the Marina, or dowtown close to the Malecon. You can pay your taxi and meal for less :). The beach is tiny an rocky in this part. The lounging area, "niki beach" is beautiful, but it is all ruined by the loud music played all day long. When I'm in the beach I enjoy listening to the sounds of the ocean, not the "zunk zunk zunk" from a bad subwoofer.
Even though we really liked the other aspects of the hotel, we will probably stay in a boutique hotel in old Puerto Vallarta if we ever visit again (then again Acapulco is such a better and more affordable experience).
