Do not stay here!

My wife and I visited this resort for our honeymoon back in May. We had the WORST experience which ruined our honeymoon. First of all, we stayed in a garden bungalow and the HOT water broke. We called 3-4 times to complain about it, and every night around the same time, we would be taking cold showers. The 3rd night we were finally moved to a new room BUT the room had twin beds.... They even made the bed like twin beds. I have proof! To top it all off, the HOT WATER BROKE AGAIN! We were sick and tired of complaining and figured we would do it when we got back to the states. Were we WRONG, the hotel said that since we did not complain about our experience while we were there, they would not honor our complaint. How horrible is that? We feel as if our honeymoon was ruined by this horrible experience.
Another issue, a BIG issue is the flies. Flies were all over the buffet and over our food. I felt like we were battling the flies while eating. They would not stop coming and they were flying all over the buffet.
I would recommend that if you were considering staying here, please do not. you will be disappointed with the service. Our honeymoon was completely ruined because of this. Please stay at the Sheraton or Le Meridian, you will definitely be happier somewhere else.

The hotel is lovely, and the staff is really gracious. The best part about the hotel is the truly amazing world-class snorkeling right off your balcony. Stay in the over the water bungalows if you can, as they are much nicer than the properties on the beach, which feel a bit crowded. Overall, a wonderful experience, although rooms could use some updating and property is a bit dense with lots of bungalows. An easy bike ride into town which is fun.

Sheraton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa

This 5-star resort nestled between two bays on the gorgeous island of Moorea is one hotel that actually lives up to the glossy print brochures. Although the location is the furthest from the airport and ferry docks, the Sheraton boasts the best beachfront property on the island, hands down. You will welcome the seclusion and tranquility of the well kept property and generous sized bungalows.
The Garden Suite is the hotel's standard room and is a private bungalow with just one other room on the other side. Each bungalow features a patio, 25" Sony flatscreen TV, tall vaulted ceilings, DVD player and modern interior decor. Although the hotel has the markings of the Sheraton chain, it is also uniquely Polynesian. The rooms feature Gaugin replicas, the mini bar is stocked with fresh tropical juices, and traditional Tahitian monoi oil is stocked daily. There is also a pillow menu that guests can choose from. If you fancy a goose down, or bon bon pillow the hotel staff will be more than happy to bring one to your room.
The hotel features a fine dining restaurant and two bars, but one of the bars is closed during the low season (November-May). The overwater bungalows are even bigger, and more lavishly accommodated, but the only substantial difference between the pricier overwater bungalows and the standard garden and beach rooms is the glass bottom floor.
Snorkeling and kayak gear is complimentary for hotel guests, but must be returned by 4:30pm each day. The hotel activity desk will also coordinate a variety of ocean activities and local tours for you. Simply walk to the lobby and they do all the work. Rental cars are available for a 4 hour minimum and run about $100 for 4 hours, plus gas and optional insurance.
There is also a gift shop but it is EXTREMELY overpriced. Expect to pay double for everything. A bottle of water will set you back $3, sunscreen around $20! The snacks were also a bit stale, I think there aren't restocked as frequently during the low season.
The dining scene is a little above average, with prices to match. Breakfast is substantially cheaper than lunch and dinner, so for guests on a budget, I recommend filling up on breakfast and having a light lunch or dinner in the bar. They do delicious pizzas for about $15. Many of the other restaurants, hungry for your business will even provide a free shuttle from the Sheraton, which is convenient because a cab ride will cost you about $25. The hotel also has a complimentary cocktail hour on Thursdays from 5-6 on the beach. To lure guests out of the rooms while they spray for bugs, they offer free wine and appetizers.
Overall the Sheraton may be a bit pricier than the other luxury hotels on the island, but the amenities and quality outshine them all.
