Pros:
My girlfriend and I just had the best time of our lives in JAMAICA MON where there are no problems and every thing there is IRE mon!!!! . Everything from landing at the airport to check out was excellent. The newly renovated hotel and the rooms were so beautiful. we had the resort view which made us feel like it was paradise . The people were very friendly the staff was extremely helpful to any question you have. They have amazing pools and one of them is like a mini water park. The beach was soo beautiful. ps, make sure you go on the excursions when you get there b.c it definitely tops off the trip. We went on the duns river waterfall where you climb a 600 feet waterfall which is a memory of a lifetime. and you don't have to convert us dollars into Jamaican dollars b/c they prefer us dollars.
Cons: The food was very overpriced.

Our three previous stays here were in the late '90's...the hotel has definitely upgraded since then. They were still completing the landscaping and spa when we were there. Sadly, the staff is not nearly as helpful or friendly as before. The food is good and varied in the different restaurants, but slow in the upstairs patio bar and the restaurant by the beach. Too many chilldren in the business center...the network for the entire hotel crashed from all the viruses. It was hard to get a teen to quit chatting so an adult could use the computer. It would be helpful if the business center was visible from the lobby and had glass walls. Our experience was restful until February 14, when large groups of families arrived for spring break. They definitely made a change in the atmosphere. The golf at the Cinnamon Hill and The White Witch courses was great, as were the caddies.
Wonderful compromise!

We weren't planning on staying at Rose Hall Resort......we missed our cruise ship, so the airline put us up at Rose Hall. We were planning on spendig New Year's Eve aboard ship, but spending New Years on Montego Bay, under the stars, with a Calypso band was even more wonderful that we could have ever imagined. We had a terrific time; the staff was so friendly and accommodating. I couldn't believe that they remembered our names! We ate one night at the restaurant located on the resort, under the stars, where the food was just delicious. We are currently planning to spend New Year's there again, this time not by mistake! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have fun and relax. I read a previous post regarding the lounge chairs & umbrellas. There are people located by the pool & beach area who will get you lounge chairs & umbrellas and bring them to the exact spot that you want them. We never had a problem! They are friendly and very helpful!! They renovated this hotel in November, so everything is quite fresh & new. We just loved it and can't wait to get back there!!
A great family destination...with a few problems!

This hotel caters to kids. The waterslides are one example. They are phenomenal! The room was very new and clean. In general, the entire hotel was very clean and new. The food was good, especcially the Fresh Restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Mangoes Grill, which was located by the sea, had a poor food choice and SLOW service! The entertainment was great for kids and good for adults. The actual sea was excellent. It was warm, clean, and very nice. The main problem was the beach. There were almost no umbrellas!! We had to get up at 6:00 A.M. to claim beach chairs that were together and under an umbrella. Late-comers to the beach have to sit on the sand! The hotel owns a huge beach. However, they only allow swimming and sitting on a tiny fraction of it! In order to improve this hotel, they need to extend the beach and add more umbrellas and chairs. We didn't spend too much time at the pool, but it was hard to get a good spot there as well. You have to come early to claim a seat. Otherwise, it is a good vacation spot, especially for families with kids.

Anniversary Trip of a lifetime. We played 36 holes of golf in one day and still had time for the pool and water park. Food was excellent and service of was out of this world great. People were very friendly and willing to help and accommodate any request. Look forward to taking the whole family back.
