Don't Waist Your Time Incompetence Runs Amuck

When I walked thru the door it was picture perfect but it went down hill from there. The first impression was welcome considering when we got to JA our luggage was lost and the airline said that they would drop it off at the hotel with in a day. The price that I paid was not the price for all inclusive. I was notified of this at the desk it did not jump out during purchase. No problem just read the fine print next time, but that should have been my first clue to go the other way. My trip was to preview a location for my wedding and we had an appointment with a wedding coordinator, set up prior to leaving the states. At check in we asked about it and they had no clue what I was talking about. Ok I would just check back in when they were available and set another appointment, this should have been my second clue. My bride to be and I checked into our room and noticed that it was not clean (Clue No. 3). We were moved to a new room and went to check on the next appointment with the wedding coordinator and they were said to be in a meeting (Clue No. 4). At this point we decided that this was not the place we wanted to have our wedding at this location and gave up trying to contact their coordinator. We checked with the concierge and they informed us that when an airline was dropping off luggage they would check in with them and bring it to our room. We went about our day checking in for the rest of the day with the desk every 3 hrs or so but were informed no luggage. The next morning the same thing by 3pm we went into town and purchased clothing and an international phone to speak with the airline. We returned to the hotel about 5pm and checked the desk said that the bags were still missing. After speaking with the airline the told us it was dropped of at 1pm and gave the name of a worker there. We confirmed this and as we were talking with them at the desk we could see our bag just sitting their in plain sight after they assured us it could not be found ?they looked?. We brought all these issues to the attention of management and they said all they could do was upgrade our room. Unacceptable, we wanted our meals for the remainder of the trip to be no charge they said no. This was only for the remainder of the week and we don't drink. We asked for the GM and left messages but he never returned the calls and we were told he was not available. Never again!

Perfectly decent place

A really nice place. Nothing really amazing, but it's nicely decorated and very clean. If you go here, definitely do the all-inclusive plan, because it's almost impossible to get food without it and is much more expensive (i.e. $53 per person for a buffet dinner). Room was comfy... get an ocean view room or you'll be staring at the rooftop of the lobby. The pool was nice if not fancy. There is wait service at poolside. I like that there is the "regular" pool where mostly adults hang out aside from the big waterpark type area with inner tubes and slides for families and kids. The beach is not very big, but is pretty. The Italian restaurant is excellent. Very good food. Just remember to make a reservation prior to 11 a.m.! Service is slow everywhere else, but hey, it's the caribbean.

My Rose Hall Resort Experience

Very satisfied with the Resort as a whole and the staff was very courtious and accommodating. The on-site waterpark was great as it allows you to still enjoy water activities when the wind blown surf doesn't allow you to. The restuarants where great as well, we particularly were fond of Fresh, the buffet restuarant that is open for all meals, can't speak well enough about the great food offered there. I would definately recommend anyone that is considering a Jamaica vacation to seriously consider this resort, particularly all with children, as the offer activities all day long to keep them (children) and the adults busy. I will be back myself !

This was our first trip to Jamaica and we found the staff here not to be the most friendly as we expected for a 4-star facility. Be careful not to be talked into upgrading/paying more for your stay as they did this immediately upon arriving. The hilights were the beach, the lazy river/tubing & slide, and the hardworking staff. Entertainment can be LOUD at night so get a room on the quieter golf course side. Excursions/tours are VERY expensive like the rum factory tour. Shuttle service is offered. We walked to shops one day & immediately got hit up outside the resort by a native for drugs (bothersome). Tip your bartender the first day & he or she will treat you extra-nice & go out of their way to accomodate you.
