I don't know what you need here (Beverly Finn)

We were in Madison with our family over the Thanksgiving weekend; and were most pleased with the location, in addition to the accomodations, price, value, and service in all areas we used. The decorations and furnishings are elegant, and we felt right at home in such beautiful, luxurious surroundings. We were in the Governor's Club area, and everything was top notch. We were late getting to the club for the hors d'oeuvre; however, the drinks, desserts, and breakfast the following morning were excellent in every way. My son and husband used the sauna and pool area and enjoyed that; however, the chlorine (which I know needs to be at a high level for sanitary reasons) was too strong for me, as I am sensitive to chemicals. The parking was perfect, and extrememely convenient. The bed was just the right firmness for someone with a bad back, which I appreciated; however, I was surprised that the pillows were not down, which I prefer. The sheets are obviously very high quality, and felt that way. We are used to a softer type of toilet paper than your hotel uses. It reminded me of being in a school bathroom. The toiletries you provided were appreciated by everyone. We stayed at your hotel in June, 1994; and found it to be as good now as it was then. Many hotels or motels are too noisy nowadays, so we were glad that your hotel was quiet enough for a good night's sleep. My husband always tells me that I am too fussy; I tell him that I am just discriminating. You met our expectations in nearly every way. Thanks for being there.

We stayed on one of the Governor's Suite floors. It included free cocktails and appetizers in the evening and a more than continental breakfast in the morning, including a bloody mary bar. All in an area where we could watch the end of the football game in a non-smoking environment. We walked the block to the Overature Center and to some of the shops we wanted to visit on State Street. We didn't get to our favorite, State Street Brats, because we weren't hungry. The room was beautiful, quiet and had a great bed and pillows. The terry robes were a nice extra in the evening. I am away from home during the week, and this was truly a great place for my wife and I to meet.

Nice enough

The hotel is conveniently located, quiet, clean and comfortable. Our room on the top level had a nice view of the lake, however the decor was dated. Not dated in a worn way, however the bathroom was especially dreary. The gray tub/shower combo had so many handlebars that they almost caused us to fall in order to climb into the tub. We felt that the private gold elevator doors and attractive elevator gave the Governor's level extra points, however, the dated bathroom dashed those points back away.

Great Stay!

The rooms are large, clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff was very helpful. Our room wasn't on the capital side but still had a great view of the lake. The Governor's Club had great cocktails & appetizers & a great view of the Capitol.
