The Manchester grand is a beautiful hotel, but I do not understand how they can spend all the money they did building this place, and not making sure the rooms were more soundproof!! When we checked in, we were offered an upgrade to a bay view for 25.00 more per night, which we accepted. The man at the desk made it sound like the room was a 'premium' one, aside from the view. That evening, I was able to har my neighbors on one side of me urinating in the toilet, brushing his teeth, and his conversations! He was not speaking loudly, either! In the other room, I eard the television, my neighbor's conversations, and even when he sneezed! Ths is totally unacceptable! The hotel did credit the additional monies back to me but it didn't take away from the fact it as a very noisy stay.
The other thing I will never understand- and it happens at every hotel, is how housekeeping can allow the room doors to just slam behind them when entering & exiting rooms! It is loud, and unnecessary! Especially when this happens early in the morning,a nd it is non-stop for awhile!
The restaurant had good food, however the service was subpar.
Room service was good.
Overall, beautiful hotel, great location w/ beautiful views; it's just a shame this is ruined by the nosie. Again, my neighbors were not being overly loud, yet I heard everything!
Would definitely stay again!

I surprised my wife with a stay at the Grand Hyatt for her birthday and was very glad I selected this hotel. The views from the room were amazing, looking out towards Coronado Island and the Bay. The rooms were comfortable and up to date. One night we had a drink at one of the hotel bars which is located on the top floor of the hotel also with great views and nice atmosphere. The hotel is walking distance to the restaurants and bars in the Gaslamp District, check out "Rama" is you are looking for some great Thai food. Overall a great experience!

This Hotel is beautiful, the rooms are a little outdated in the old tower section, but still have a terrific view of the san diego bay. Rooms on the 17th floor are quiet and we could not hear any noise from the trains/trolly just across the street. The beds are very comfortable. If you've never been to San Diego, I do recommend staying at this hotel for the close proximity to Seaport Village, the Gas Lamp District, the Zoo and all the great restaurants within walking distance! Try getting a room in the new tower, above the 17th floor.

We went for business, specifically a convention, but added on days before for pleasure. We upgraded to Regency Club and it was the only way to stay. The room and view were beautiful. It was a very quiet floor and the perk of being able to catch the elevator down a floor to the Regency Club room for breakfast, complimentary bottled water and other refreshments any time of the day, plus wine and hor d ouerves in the late afternoon/early evening was so perfect as there were times we were hungry and just wanted to eat very close by, but not have to dress up to even go to one of the hotel restaurants. We appreciated the smallness of that dining room and the fact that it was only available to Regency Club members. It was a very relaxing, casual and intimate atmosphere. The swimming pool area was very nice and during the times we went down, as long as we went early, we found lounge chairs. Service all around was great and the consierges were very helpful. The location could not be better. The parking was great. Very convenient with in and out privileges. We would definitely stay again anytime that we are in San Diego!
