The Broadmoor Hotel (www.broadmoor.com) in Colorado Springs is a 5-star hotel located right next to the mountains. When staying here, you really pay for what you get. With over 700 rooms and suites, the price can run you as little as $300 a night to rates that most likely hit over $1000 a night. But, the surrounding resort is unbelievable. There is an outdoor heated pool, a pond, multiple meeting rooms, a handful of bars, 15 restaurants, hallways lined with some of the oldest wine bottles in the world, a tennis court, a fabulous spa, and three great golf courses. This place is amazing! The beds are so comfortable that you just sink into the beds and become cocooned in the plush bed sheets. Never in my life have I slept in something so comfortable. Also, the Broadmoor gives you complimentary bath robes that are probably the best things ever. Just wearing these robes is a relaxing experience. The room also has a comfortable couch that one just sinks into and an outdoor balcony. On this balcony, there is a four person glass table, four chairs, and the greatest view of the mountains and the trolley heading up to Cripple Creek.
So, if you have the means and the time, head to the Broadmoor because it is an experience all in its own and then you can get the plus side of being in Colorado Springs. I hope that you enjoy the Broadmoor and maybe I will even save enough to one day head back there.
