just so people know when they look at the reviews this is a golf resort, when you say resort it makes it sound like one of those fancy spa treatment resort ..one those multi millionare owners hotels...this is exactly what it looks like it is a golf resort...
minor stuff in the rooms , its acceptable you are a human being stop acting like you've never seen stains and give some props to the good service this hotel has to offer....GREAT HOTEL! atleast people in the hotel connect with you and speak with you like a human being, rather other hotels just stare at you and Act like all you are is the money that you're spending is all that matters...
thanks CROWNE

just spent the weekend there..bad location, hard to find, indifferent front desk staff(we are not problem guests),you could easily have a conversation with your next door neighbor through the paper thin walls and best of all no hot water....if you don't know the Asheville area it will probably take you several attempts to find your way downtown and back

DO NOT STAY HERE!! BAD HOTEL AND BAD AREA

As I write from the room, let me tell you what I found. Finding this place is almost impossible. You have to drive through a strip mall to get to the place and when you get here it is almost like they used another hotel in their ads. The place is dirty and out dated. We checked in and went to our 1st room, yes I said first room was not cleaned yet and there seemed to be brown "substances" on the bathroom floor and was utterly disgusting. We received a second room. The refrigerator is on the floor and the floor is dirty and stained. It is to the point where we are thinking about sleeping fully clothed. This is clearly a low rate hotel not worthy of a 3 star establishment, maybe 1.5 or maybe a 2 on a good day. The sanitation score for the food is lower than the local fast food establishments which is never a good sign. The local area is not the best either, check cashing and pawn shops do not provide a nice get-away weekend backdrop. This place is an utter disappointment and the only real reason we are staying is because leaving for home now would be too dangerous of a drive from driving all day. Plus the place I think allows pets because I have seen people with dogs here which is not sanitary considering even the good hotels are fairly clean and since this is not a good hotel, we can just imagine what is in the room. We plan to check out as soon as possible tomorrow and never come back. PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE. If I could give this place a lower rate than terrible I would have.

Crowne Plaza..a first class act!

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Holiday Inn Crown Plaza in Asheville. I am a state government emplpyee who travels throughout the state and has stayed in a number of different hotel chains. Because I qualify for the state rate, I usually end up in an inferior room (you know, the one on the ground level that overlooks the dumpster out back?). I was given the royal treatment by the hotel staff and had one of my best hotel experiences ever! The hotel appearance is inviting, my room was spacious and clean with a wonderful view of a wooded area in front of the on site golf course. Once the golf course had closed for the day I was able to use the cart paths for my one hour fitness power walk. The rooms have darkening shades and reinforcement closures and very comfortable bedding. When I arrived at my room and was getting settled I noticed a small set of tools had been left in the bathroom. I called the front desk who told me that there had been some maintenance work on the room earlier that day and that the crew must have left them in the room by accident. I offered to bring them down to the front desk on my way to dinner. When I turned the tools in at the desk, I was awarded two full breakfast coupons which included gratuity, for the inconvenience which I felt was minor. The breakfasts were wonderful with cooked to order eggs, omelettes and waffles. Staff at the desk provided me with perfect directions to all of my local destinations. The Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza in Asheville is a class act and I encourage anyone visiting the area to stay at this hidden treasure!

Would be a good $70 motel

I'll start with the +'s: Great bed. Cleanliness was good. Now the -'s: Let me start by saying this was the Bluegrass First Class weekend and everything was crazy. Very rude reception at check-in from the front desk person, room had small frig but it was sitting on floor, very poor lighting in room, bathroom vanity to small with no room to sit anything, had very rude encounter with waiter in restaurant, room service help could not speak or understand english.
