Having been a student in Glasgow many years ago, I was aware of One Devonshire Gardens, and hoped to stay there one day. I finally had the opportunity to do so last summer, and it was definitely worth the wait! We received a free upgrade to a larger room and it was wonderful. The bed was a 4-poster, large and very comfortable. The room also had a couch, and a seating area. It was decorated in a "library" style and was not at all fussy or feminine (in fact the style was more masculine). The bathroom had a large deep bath that was perfect for soaking, and the toiletries were very high quality. We ate in the restaurant once, and service was attentive, but not intrusive. The location of the Hotel also allows for walking to an area with lots of interesting restaurants, bars and cafes (Byres Road and Great Western Road). We were very well looked after at this hotel and I wold love to return some day.
