The Mago is a wonderful little hideaway nestled on a hillside overlooking the fishing village of Soufriere, just a short walk away. In the morning, we could hear returning fishermen blowing on conch shells to announce that they had fresh fish to sell. There were also roosters signaling morning. The location is beautiful and exotic. We were surrounded by dense jungle and had a clear view of the Petite Piton. From our porch, we could look out through the jungle to the Piton and the Caribbean Sea. Birds were abundant, especially Bullfinches who sat begging for crumbs at breakfast. Tree frogs serenaded at night. The staff was attentive, efficient, and friendly. The complementary breakfast was cooked to order and always accompanied by a dish of local fruits and juices. Evening meals were quite good. Our room was very large by American Hotel standards, with a comfy four-poster bed, a big porch, a plunge pool, and a spacious bathroom. The management was very friendly and helpful?providing advice, arranging trips, and generally seeing to it that guests were well taken care of. As part of our package, we were given a three-course candlelight dinner with wine on our porch. Since it was our 25th anniversary, it was very special. Don?t miss this! Another perk was a spa treatment consisting of a drive to a volcano, where we experienced an amazing volcano head-to-toe mud treatment in a sulphur spring, a back and foot massage while sitting in the spring, drying off in the warm sun, followed by going to a waterfall where we washed the mud off. It was so relaxing and soothing. Overall, we feel the Mago can?t be beat if you are looking for a very private, low key, stress-free, and enjoyable vacation.

St Lucia is a beautiful island and the people were very friendly and helpful. We were very pleased with the hotel and staff. They went well above and beyond our expectations. We booked on the hotel's website and booked the package with free transportation to and from airport, free breakfast every morning, one free massage, one free candlight dinner with a bottle of champagne. They brought our breakfast to our room a couple of mornings when we didn't feel like going up to the restraunt. They also brought our candlelight dinner and champagne down to our balcony. We really enjoyed the food. They also brought the massage chair out by the pool and we got our massages poolside sine we were the only ones out there. She said that was the first time she did that. By the way, it was the BEST massage both of us had ever had (and we have had tons). We stayed in Kabir which had the best view. We had booked Zen which is right below Kabir and they let us change rooms to get the better view. I would recommend a suite over the rooms as the rooms are tiny. I would also recommend a room with ac. There were alot of stairs from our room to the top (restraunt, pool, exit the hotel). The views from our room, the pool, and the restraunt are breathtaking. Don't let the pictures of the plunge pool in the rooms fool you. They are the size of a very small hot tub and cold. We didn't even get in. But the main pool was nice. We were very pleased with our stay and would recommend this hotel.
