Great days on the beach

My husband and I spent four days at Samsara and then the last four at Legends...we were worried when we had walked to Legends from Samsara when we saw wall to wall spring breakers but by the time we had checked into Legends it was at the end of spring break, the beaches were less packed and were able to find a spot to lay out. You can walk for miles on the beach in either direction and find plenty of things to entertain yourself. We had a moonlight lobster dinner down the way and went parasailing. The staff at Legends were pleasant and helpful. The beds like Samsara were extremely hard and if you don't mind not sleeping thru the night, it's okay. Our room overlooked the water, it's safe to wander on the beach, security guards keep people from pestering you to buy something. The only drawback was there is limited chairs to sun in or few places to get any bit of shade which is helpful in the afternoon so you have to stake out your chairs at breakfast. I was impressed with the safety all along the beachfront properties and have no fear about sending my children down there next year for spring break, they will love it.

Okay

We spent my wife's birthday in Negril. My mission was to get a trip for the cheapest price for a long weekend. We have traveled to a lot of Caribbean Islands and we like to adventure out and meet the native people and feel the day to day struggle on the islands on our own. The hotel was simple, clean and we felt safe. The bed was only a box spring mattress (or that is want it felt like) and very hard, and the door had a gap that let any type of noise in. This is not a hotel to recommend for anyone that expects to have tiny bottles of shampoo in there rooms, with pillow top and a silent retreat. But for the price and our personal trip it was okay bring your own toiletries even a wash cloth. We barely spoke to any of the Staff except from the security out to the street and on the beach, they were nice. Negril has a beautiful beach with a great sunset. The beach at the hotel itself is long but not very wide so it gets kind of cramped. If you like to stay within the area of the hotel security is watching. The security is there to protect you from all the hustlers and people that trying to make a living. The hustlers are like mosquitoes in the middle of a swamp but they usually only bite once and a firm no is okay. The reggae concerts along the beach are awesome and sometimes they are free.

The rooms were quite pleasant and the staff was very friendly. The food was very good for the most part for the type of resort it is. i would stay there again. We did not do the all inclusive as we like traveling around the area to eat at many different places. The Samsara resort was also nice to visit.

A wonderful experience!!!!

This was my very first trip out of the country and I had a blast. Even though this is not a five star resort the employees are friendly, the rooms are cozy, and the perks are great. The only problem with the room was that the A/C constantly leaked. The food wasn't that great so you should definitely try little restaurants in the city..esp. Rick's Cafe. The villagers by the beach were extremely friendly and gave us a tour for little to nothing. We went snorkling and got a tour of the city for under $100. Wow! I couldn't have asked for a better trip! So if you're on a budget and looking for a good time this is definitely the place.

Budget but ask for beachside-no all inclusive

Ok as long as you don't mind no bath tubs and only get room only, all inclusive offers very limited selections; buying off the menu and tipping for what you got was a much better alternative, good security on the beach which was a plus and the food chef and bar staff were great! I have stayed at several Negril hotels and this was ok as long as the website price is right otherwise there are several others that I would prefer; watch the price because sister hotel on the (Samsara) cliffs can contain same hidden costs and no beach but great sunset viewing
