Transition Hotel

I stayed at the Princess Hotel before departing for Turneffe Island Lodge, a private island located 30 miles off the coast. The Turneffe Island Staff picked me up and took me to the marina to head to the island. The Princess Hotel was ok as a transition spot and allowed me access to Belize city...however the real jewel was at the private resort I went to. Check them out at www.turneffelodge.com

First off, don't stay in Belize City...get out the cayes, St. Ignacio or Placencia right away. In BZ, people are helpfull and friendly...not the staff at this hotel. Internet never worked, food so so, overpriced

Do not stay at the Princess, stay at the Fort George Radisson.....avoid Belize City at all if possible, go to Caye Caulker. All inland trips can be made from this island for same price. hotel is overpriced clubs next door play LOUD music even on weekdays, don't expect to get a good night's sleep. food is expensive, go to restaurants elsewhere.

Apathetic Over Priced Service

My husband and I traveled to Belize for a 10 day vacation. Throughout the entire country we found the culture, atmosphere, and people welcoming and all around charming. We felt Belize City, Princess would put us close to the airport, and give us 2 days of entertainment. We wish we would have stayed somewhere else. Most of the staff was rude or apathetic. We would not recommend the hotel simply because of the unwelcoming staff, and shoddy accommodations. We are happy it was an ending point; starting there would have set precedence on our expectations of the country.

From the last time I was hereuntil now was a vast improvment. The hotel staff were almost like family by the time I left. Free breakfast was great. Could use more internet sites and a atm machine. Room service was fast and courtious and not badly priced.
