this was our first trip to Cancun. Riu Caribe was an excellent hotel, the staff were friendly and attentive they go out of the way to make your stay relax. The food was fresh and delicious. The room were clean and comfortable. At night the entertainment was a joy to watch. in conclusion this was by far the best Hotel i have ever stayed. Definitely will be coming back to RIU Caribe P.S to my special Bar tender Geraldo Keep my drink cold... Ill see you next year.

Nice but not the RIU Palace

My wife and I was on our second Honeymoon and we had the Ocean view suite with a balcony. Romantic right! Not so fast! They fused together 2 Queen size beds to make a monster of a King with a seam in the middle. Tacky at best! We had some fun here but not much. The entertainment was limited and the activities need to be more adventurous for adults. As far as the food goes I would avoid the Asian themed restaurant, that and the Steak house have to be reserved in order for them to seat you. The main default dining experience was not to exotic either food was overcooked. Salmon and other meats should be just right. They do a lot to get your attention with fluff and stuff but this place wasn't the RIU Palace which is 10X better. There the help with your bags from the parking lot.

Great location and staff

The beach was very nice and the water is calm on this North side of Cancun. The hotel is also somewhat secluded from the main strip leaving you more room to enjoy. There are games/activiities and shows every day on site. If you stay here you must go to the restaraunts as the food is better than the buffet and offers a change of pace. The Riu entertainment staff was amazing. They are all friendly and hardworking. The only complaint I would have is that the beds are very hard (common in Cancun apparantly).

A fun place with lots of pool entertainment

We stayed a couple of winters back, and I am dying to get back down there. I enjoyed the pool activities as i love volleyball and stuff, so I highly reccommend it. personally, I would not take kids because the adults do get a bit rowdy and drunk. It is a great place though, I was bummed out about the dining facility is limited to 2 places, and they have the same food. if you want to go to the other places, you have to make reservations and sometimes you just feel like wanting to go eat and they don't have but 1 or 2 couples dining in the entire restaurant, weird??? You have to dress nice to go in there too, so take shoes and casual dress clothing, no beach wear. I definitely want to go back to this hotel though, very comfortable.

Great Vacation

This was our third trip to Cancun and by far the best resort we have stayed at. The food was excellent. They have one resturant the Albatros, which is buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the food was great and there was a huge variety. The other dinner restaurants are by reservation only, which you must make early in the morning the day of, we never ate at those but I am sure they were just as good. The was also a resturant and the pool that served buffet style for breakfast and lunch only. The staff was very nice and always asked if we needed anything. The only downside was the beach. There wasn't much to it. It was the smallest of the three resorts we have stayed at and the water was full of seaweed. However, I not sure if this was just due to the tropical storm that came through just before we arrived. We went through Funjet and they were awesome. They answered every question we had. At night, vendors would come to the hotel and set up in Lobby. There was an awesome artist who painted with spray paint. Eventhough, there is not much directly around the hotel, everything is a simple bus ride away. The La Fiesta shopping center is gerat. You can visit the sister hotel, Riu Cancun, and it is located right by this shopping center. Overall, this was an excellent resort and I would definately consider staying here or another Riu resort for my next vacation.
