While the hotel is being renovated, the rooms were in good shape. The hallways are a bit dingy, but they aren't completed yet. The service was great.... I needed a late checkout due to the Army ceremony lasting a bit longer than the original checkout and I had alot of luggage in my room. that couldn't be packed until after the graduation. Overall, a nice place. I have been there twice in a month or so.

When I first got to the hotel I was a little nervous because the hallways were gross. They hadn't been vaccumed in months. But when I opened the door to my room I Loved it. The room was beautiful and very clean. granite counter tops in the bathroom, huge comfortable bed, and a great view. The best part about the hotel was that it's just off the highway to go to ft. benning. It's also really close to food and shopping. I'm staying there again when I travel back to ft. benning in september.
Very Disappointed

We stayed here for our son's gradatuation from Ft Benning. The hallways of this motel smelled of old cooked cabbage. Our room smelled of old cigarette smoke even though it was supposed to be a smoke free room. Housekeeping gave it an extra spray to help, it didn't. There are no towel racks in the bathroom, also no air vent. The bathroom door would not close completely. The carpeting was dirty. There are no elevators. We had to carry our luggage up an old stairway. There are no signs inside the hotel to direct you to the pool. We wondered around for 10 minutes trying to find it. According to the menu, the breakfact buffet was 7.95 and the cashier tried to charge us 8.95. She stated that there had been in increase, but the menu hadn't been changed yet. We complained and we did have our breakfast comped. There was a sign saying that there was some renovation going on, but we did not see any.
This Holiday Inn was a great disappointment. The only redeeming quality was the staff. They were very friendly and helpful.

To be fair, the hotel is currently under renovations. However, their should still be a minimal standard of cleanliness and service that a hotel should maintain, even during transitional periods. First of all, the hotel is spread out and the only guide to navigating through the hotel is from the people at the front desk. There should have been more signs or directions as to how to get to different sections of the hotel. Something like a printed map or floor plan. Second, once navigated through the maze of the hotel and I arrived at my room, my keys did not work, which forced me to take the long journey back to the front desk. Now on to the quality of my room I was assigned another room on the ground floor, but questioned the safety of the sliding doors, which faced a wooded area. The curtains were dirty and the room had a damp odor. The carpet also appeared to be stained and the bed was not very confortable. In the bathroom there was no soap and there we stains (dirt) on the commode behind the seat. Maybe the quality will greatly improve after renovations, but I am not sure I will give them another chance.

The staff at Holiday Inn Columbus North was so friendly, and hospitable. I felt like I was a part of their family and they were welcoming me home. I would definitely stay there again. Close to Ft. Benning for families traveling to see their sons and daughters graduate. Pick up shuttle from the Columbus Airport was there in 5 minutes! Seriously, a wonderful and inviting place to stay.
