Ultimate Vacation with Children & Gma's

This may be long but to set the story and relay what an exception experience we had, I thought I would share.

My husband and I first visited Sandals Jamaica, Negril. This set the bar high for any future vacation as the staff, food, tours, and the resort were exceptional. We have since taken trips outside the Sandals’ family of resorts and they have yet to meet those expectations. We are an average family trying to do a nice vacation a year. We are mindful of the cost and value of that cost, especially having the expense of children.

After having children, 3 yr old and infant, we decided to do Beaches. The sealing point was available Sesame Street experience that set it apart from other considerations. We booked two rooms, bring the Grandma’s to help with child care. Upon arrival, they graciously upgraded our room to one of the villas with concierge. We were in a state of shock and wow. Our mother’s, whom have never been to a Sandals’ family resort were amazed. We were then greeted with the beach bag, t-shirts for the come back, and a bottle of rum.

We had planned all the Sesame Street activities. The characters worked with the children well and ensured each child had a moment with them. We took over 1000 pictures, half being of Sesame Street activities. My 3 yr old loved giving them hugs at any given moment and all were receptive. During these activities, the staff at the daycare were so welcoming. They work very well with the children and the activities are so neat and age appropriate. We loved going to Bobbie D’s and getting milk shakes and enjoyed the water park activities. We took two excursions to include the Kitty Kat snorkeling and a private tour of the island. Both were well worth the money spent.

Having a 3 year old, the tantrums may come on. She had her moments, many a times at prior to breakfast. The staff during meals always took the time to console my daughter taking interest in her and making things that much better. Christine was one that went well above these expectations.

We found 3 conch shells on one of our outings that needed cleaned. Our room maid offered to clean. This was well above our expectations and we were so grateful we didn’t then have to worry about.

The resort itself is very well manicured, clean, updated, and maintained. The foliage is lush and beautiful. We never had an issue finding places to sit on the beach or at the water park. The beach and sand was pristine. We spent time at each pool and attempted to get to most restaurants. Kimonos was the best of all. Then I would put breakfast at Reflections next.

There are some things that we would have made the experience that more fulfilling, though the positives far outweighed these. I have listed these below if wishing to better improve one’s experience.

1) The SnapShot took great pictures, but the price is pretty high. I purchased 25 pics for $175. Given digital pics come at no cost outside of labor, the distribution is on cd so only the cost of the cd is incurred. I would think more cost savings could be passed on. Every person in the shop when I was there additionally stated the same.

2) Many of the buffet eateries’ meats and desserts were dry, or Mario’s portions were small. The breakfast was the best. Bobbie D’s had quite the processed chicken. I didn’t find the food was near like that when in Jamaica. The smoothies never offered strawberries which I found surprising as well as the availability of someone attending a spot and availability at all times in the day wasn’t there. In Jamaica they listed some choices of drink mixes, including non-alcoholic. I didn’t find this.

3) Having a 3 year old meant she is not that tall yet, but wants to be pretty independent. Not having sinks in the bathrooms that she could reach along with soap made it difficult as I had to always lift her. I didn’t expect this since it does cater to so many young children. It is obviously expensive to upgrade sinks, but just having a step stool would suffice.

Overall we loved our vacation and do plan on coming back to a Sandals or Beaches resort.

Thank you to all the staff for make the resort and experience a memorable one.

Swim, Snorkel, Scuba-dive, Lounge at the pool or just relax with a Stone Massage or do ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING, while knowing that your kids are safe doing their own thing at the X-box game, room, or floating down the lazy river. These are just a few of the amenities that are available at this resort. The grounds are beautiful, the staff attentative, the rooms immaculate and the prices cannot be beat. With sixteen (16) restaurants, every palate is satisfied. The various camp activities for the kids keeps every age group satisfied, while parents can enjoy their peace and serenity while lounging by the various pools. A Gem in the Caribbean.

We have just returned from our second visit to this fabulous resort and we are already planning our third. The resort offers all the benefits of a 5 star resort from the beautifully landscaped gardens and magnificent properties to an endless supply of stunning cuisine. Everything about our holiday was absolutely perfect and the standard was even higher than the previous year, which we thought was impossible but the team at Beaches achieved this. This is the unique selling point of Beaches "The Team"! The staff and management at Beaches Turks and Caicos are truly committed to making every guest's holiday perfect. Nothing is too much trouble, everyone from the gardening team to the catering team convey the message that they want you to enjoy your Beaches experience. If we could bottle that and sell it we would have made a fortune and the world would be a much nicer place, because not only are the staff pleasant and courtesy to guests they also communicate with each other in the same way. I would like to mention the following people who added an even extra special touch to our holiday Paulette in Customer relations who for the second year was just the loveliest person to deal with, Mercedes, Arnold, Omar and Milton who do an incredible job every day and always with the most amazing attitude, O'Brian who entertained and made sure we were never without a cocktail and finally Dwayne the butler who is such a fabulous ambassador for Beaches. Finally the teams behind the scenes in particular the chiefs and catering assistants and the housekeeping teams you do an "AWESOME" job.
If you are thinking of Beaches Turks and Caicos for your next vacation stop thinking and book it. You wont be disappointed!

Family Vacation Paradise

Family Vacation Paradise

Beaches Turks & Caicos is a wonderful family resort. The resort was designed with families in mind and they have plenty of activities to keep kids of all ages busy. My wife and I took our 17 month old and he had a blast as well. They have Sesame Street shows and the characters are featured throughout the property. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to interact with our son as well to by getting him to laugh. The resort is large and you should expect to walk quite a bit while you're there, but it's a great way to work off all the food you'll be eating.

Not sure I'd recommend this for travelers without kids, but we met quite a few people without kids and they seemed to be enjoying themselves.
