Most horrifying experience of my life!

When we first walked into the Marina Fiesta "resort" it looked inviting. The staff could have been more attentive, but they did help us with our luggage. After we check in, the harassment began. Every time we stepped into the lobby we were asked to see one of their timeshare properties. It was extremely annoying. The pool area was nice and the staff there were good at what they do. I would avoid the buffet as they leave the serving spoons for each dish out and I saw birds standing on them and picking at them and then reused by patrons. Then the nightmare began. We went out for dinner one night and while we were gone, someone entered our room and stole a blackberry and went through our belongings, leaving them all over the floor. We asked security to come up (we found out later there is no real security, all the young employees just switch jobs as needed) and then came up and told us we probably lost it and started to go through our things. We had them run off the entry log to our room and found sometime entered using a keycard while we are at dinner. At that point the "security" guy told us he was going to call the police on us because the room was trashed. This went on and on until we finally kicked him out of our room. The next day we decided to leave as they wouldn't help us, wouldn't change the keycards to others didn't have access to our rooms and continued to turn off our room phones so we couldn't call out. We ended up feeling violated and unsafe.
Would stay again!

We just got back from staying here from Feb 28 - March 7th. We loved that the hotel was right downtown and on the right "side of the tracks." It is on the newer side of the marina, it is super clean, great restaurants and shopping. We considered staying at the Tesoro on the other side of the marina and are very glad that we didn't. It must be the older, original side of the marina, a bit outdated, loud, dirty and people trying to sell you stuff everywhere you turned! We definitely did not experience this anywhere near the Marina Fiesta.
Rooms are very clean..I inspected everything because I am a bit OCD! They are a little older but perfect, comfortable and relaxing. The pool gets a bit filmy and has a few floaters on the surface by the end of the day but that is to be expected with so many people going in and out of it all day.
They are up cleaning the pool area by 7am, scrubbing the tile/cement, cleaning the chairs, wiping down the railings, landscaping, and so forth..you would never see that in the US!
They do try to get you for a timeshare when you first check-in but we said that we weren't interested and kept walking.
The Best!

I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions and love it. It is by far the greatest value in town. Close to everything and the staff is exceptional. The entire resort is locked down 24 hours a day and the security is top notch. The only real downfall is the check out time.
Great location for action

The Hotel/timeshare was very nice. Not elegant, but nice and clean. Felt great about coming into the room after being at the pool area or shopping in the "Luxury" mall right next door.
The staff members were excellent at doing their jobs and being friendly and helpful. The location was very convenient to the shopping and restaurant areas, out the back door. Beautiful views of the marina and within easy walking distance to the beach/bar areas or downtown area.
My only complaint is the fitness center was not up to par. The weights were included and on the top floor covered, but open with great views, however, there were no cardio or weight machines at this location. The cardio was in the spa in the basement with a daily fee to use which had no weights. The breakfast buffet was very good and 16.00 USD. including a chef for your requests.
Two Adults and Two Teen Trip

We booked this hotel in less than two hours research after another option fell through. I was ready for the worst, but was very pleasantly surprised. Location is awesome, as it is right in the heart of the Cabo action. Its probably a quarter mile walk to the swim beach and beach front restraunts, and right on the marina. We had a master suite, which is a tight fit for for people for a week, as it is all one room with passable kitchenette. It did have two queens, and a hideaway bed/couch. That made for the need to get out of there as much as possible. If it was only two people, we might have tolerated eating in room and saving more money than we did. Almost got the junior suite, but that would have been intolerable for four people. Read complaints about the time share sales pitches, and the hotel staff was GREAT at taking no for an answer. Now of course everywhere else in Cabo, they don't understand no, but that is no fault of the hotel. They left us alone, and were very proffesional. Great family trip in the end, which can be tough with a 15 and 17 y.o. teens, but we were all able to enjoy the trip. Not luxurious, but certainly not a dump, and affordable.
